About the event
Under The BIG Tree returns to the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Cultural Academy, inviting families and friends to gather beneath its iconic tree for an evening of dance, discovery, and togetherness. Settle onto picnic mats and enjoy performances by SCDT's professional company, Performance Troupes (Children, Junior and Youth), and students from SCDT's training classes in a relaxed outdoor setting.
Round off the evening with carnival snacks, DIY prop-making workshops, and Chinese dance-themed games that offer fun, hands-on experiences for all ages.
This outdoor dance carnival celebrates the living spirit of Chinese dance and heritage, showing how culture flourishes not only on stage but also through meaningful moments shared by the community.
