Lotus leaf glutinous rice (珍珠鸡) is a classic Chinese Dim Sum consisting of glutinous rice wrapped and steamed in lotus leaves. The rice is usually soaked, seasoned with various condiments and spices, and blended with additional ingredients such as chicken, mushrooms, shrimp, and lotus seed.
Siew Mai (烧卖) is another traditional Chinese dumpling made of ground pork, shrimp and mushroom. In Cantonese cuisine, it is usually served as a dim sum snack during morning teatime.
In this workshop, there will be a demonstration of making and wrapping these two delectable Dim Sum and you will also learn how to wrap Lotus leaf glutinous rice and Siew Mai by yourself!
