Since the pickup doesn't come to Phan Ke Binh Street, I had to go to the nearest pickup hotel, so I walked about 10 minutes to the Lotte Hotel on the day. The bus arrived on time and moved around the city to pick up other participants, but the traffic was so heavy that it took more than 30 minutes to get on the highway, with frequent stops and starts, and I got a little carsick. I recommend using motion sickness medicine if you are worried about being on the bus for about 3 hours. It was drizzling at the time, but the rain stopped in Ha Long Bay, and although there were no sunny breaks, the sea was calm with no wind, and I was able to enjoy the magnificent scenery. The guide also speaks Japanese, so there is no need to worry about language. On the way there, you will be forcibly taken to a souvenir shop for a break, but please accept it as contributing to the Vietnamese economy. They don't try to make you buy anything too persistently. The fee includes dinner at a Bun Cha restaurant in the old town on the way back. After the meal, the guide will be waiting, so they can arrange a taxi to the hotel at your own expense, and the tour ends. I wanted to go to the old town, so I declined the taxi.

I took a day trip to Ha Long Bay and it was very good. I liked that I could comfortably travel around Ha Long Bay by cruise. Lunch buffet and evening desserts were good, and I liked that the guide was seemingly indifferent but actually took care of us in a tsundere way!!

Mr. Robert Hung, and his team are very accommodating, and on-time in everything, from pick-up, visiting sites, breaks, and drop off. I really appreciate that they gave us, thank you gifts, and foods. Their cruise is very clean, and luxurious for a price. It is my first time visiting this country, and had fun visiting Ha Long Bay. Ha Long Bay is very beautiful, and it has hundreds or thousands beautiful and unique rock formations. It was very worth it.

What to know about Ha Long Bay

Situated in Vietnam’s Quang Ninh province, Ha Long Bay is a stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its thousands of towering limestone islands, crystal-clear emerald waters, and deep cultural roots. Whether you're after a peaceful cruise with breathtaking views or prefer adventure activities like kayaking, rock climbing, and cave exploration, Ha Long Bay caters to every kind of traveler. The name “Ha Long” means “Descending Dragon” and comes from Vietnamese legend, which tells of a mother dragon who descended from the heavens and released jewels and jade into the sea to protect the land from invaders—these treasures are believed to have formed the bay’s iconic islets. To visit Ha Long Bay, you can book a tour with a local operator, take a bus to Ha Long City or Hai Phong followed by a taxi to the port, or opt for a 15-minute seaplane ride for an unforgettable aerial view of the bay.

Attractions in Ha Long Bay

Limestone Karsts and Islets

Hạ Long Bay is famed for its dramatic limestone formations---towering karsts and islets that rise majestically from emerald-green waters. Sculpted over 500 million years, these natural pillars now frame scenes of local fishermen gliding by in sampans and mooring beside floating houses. For a breathtaking aerial perspective, ride the Queen Cable Car at Sun World Ha Long Park in Halong City.

Cat Ba Island and Other Caves and Grottos

When you visit Halong bay, Explore the bay's numerous caves, including Hang Dau Go (Wooden Stakes Cave), Thiên Cung (Paradise Cave), Sửng Sốt (Surprise Cave) and Trung Trang Cave near the Cat Ba archipelago. These caves feature impressive stalactites and stalagmites and offer a glimpse into the bay's geological history.

Floating Villages

Visit the floating fishing villages of Cua Van, Ba Hang, Cong Tau, and Vong Vieng. The local Vietnamese people here live on floating houses and sustain themselves through fishing and marine aquaculture, providing a unique cultural experience.

Lan Ha Bay

If you'd like quieter waters, head to Lan Ha Bay or Bai Tu Long Bay. Both boast secluded white-sand beaches and hundreds of limestone outcrops that rival Hạ Long Bay's beauty but with fewer crowds.
