Great 4.0
There are other t&c that you learn once you board the cruise ship. The choices of food and drinks is limited under the package. Any other choice of drink or food outside standard menu is chargable. The standard menu is very basic and this could be made clear in offer package. It is a good experience tough, however there are sevral company that offer such packages with differnt ship size and style. I suggest to do research and then decide to get true value of your money.

Fantastic 5.0
We had booked 2 hours yatch tour with snacks and wine. Unforgettable experience with senic views of European and Asian side. Luckily weather was perfect for amazing views and our guide was really entertaining and knowledgeable. We got a learn a little bit of history, nice places and restaurant recommendations for best Turkish food and sweets in Istanbul. We took some nice photos and thoroughly enjoyed our Sunset yatch.

Great 4.0
Very nice experience. I deducted 1 star because of some difficulties in redeeming the voucher. The one you receive on the mobile version is not sufficient. You need 4 QR codes (2 people - 2 for the outbound and 2 for the return). But the staff on site are very friendly and helpful. As a result, you should arrive at least 15 to 20 minutes before departure. The journey takes 2 hours to get to Budukaya, which is the last island, as the boat makes all the stops. I recommend this visit because it's a change from the hustle and bustle of Istanbul and it's very pretty.

What to know before visiting Istanbul

Iconic Things to Do in Istanbul

The Historic Peninsula (Sultanahmet) is where Istanbul’s story began. This is the city center of the ancient world, packed with magnificent remnants of Roman history, Byzantine, and Ottoman Empire eras, perfectly structured for a long, captivating walking day.

Hagia Sophia Museum and the Blue Mosque

The Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque is a colossal structure that has transcended centuries and faiths, standing as a living testament to Istanbul's complex past. Its soaring dome and unique blend of Christian mosaics and Islamic calligraphy tell a story unlike any other. Directly facing it stands the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, better known as the Blue Mosque, famous for the mesmerizing blue Iznik tiles that line its interior.

  • Visitor Tip: Entry to Hagia Sophia is currently free. Both are active places of worship, so remember to dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered). Women should carry a headscarf.

Topkapi Palace and the Basilica Cistern

Step into the imperial world of the Ottoman Sultans at Topkapi Palace. This immense complex, a pristine example of ottoman architecture, was the primary residence of the Ottoman Empire’s leaders for nearly 400 years. After touring the opulent courtyards and the Imperial Harem, descend beneath the busy streets into the mysterious Basilica Cistern. This spectacular piece of Roman history provides a cool, silent escape, illuminated to highlight its ancient columns and famous Medusa heads—a must-see ancient tradition.

The Turkish Hamam

For the ultimate sensory experience, treat yourself to a Hamam (Turkish bath). This ancient tradition offers pure relaxation, involving heat, a traditional scrub (kese), and often a glorious relaxing massage. It's a wonderful way to wash away the travel fatigue and experience a unique facet of Turkish culture.

Family-Friendly Things to do in Istanbul

Climb the Iconic Galata Tower for a Panoramic View

Climbing the Iconic Galata Tower offers one of the finest 360-degree views of the Golden Horn, the Bosphorus, and the sprawling city skyline. Once you’re back down, explore the surrounding narrow streets of the Galata neighborhood, a haven for design shops, independent boutiques, and intimate quaint cafes.

Taksim Square and Istiklal Street

This is the beating heart of modern Istanbul. Start at Taksim Square, a central hub, and walk along Istiklal Street. This vibrant street is a bustling pedestrian avenue defined by the famous red Nostalgic Tram. You'll pass everything from international brands and local bookstores to hidden art galleries, experiencing a dynamic energy that contrasts beautifully with the ancient past.

Traditional Turkish Shopping

Dive into the ancient markets where trade has thrived for centuries:

  • Grand Bazaar (Kapalıçarşı): Lose yourself in this massive maze of 4,000 stalls offering everything from exquisite Turkish ceramics and gold to textiles. Be prepared to haggle politely using the Turkish lira!
  • Egyptian Bazaar (Spice Bazaar): A true feast for the senses. This market specializes in spices, nuts, herbal teas, and of course, the finest Turkish delight. It’s the perfect place to pick up authentic Turkish coffee and premium tea.

Culinary Things to Do in Istanbul

Istanbul’s cuisine is as rich as its history. From strong coffee rituals to fresh street snacks, the Bosphorus Strait is the lifeblood of the city's food culture.

Bosphorus Experiences

The Bosphorus Strait is the essential physical and emotional divider of this transcontinental vibrant city. The best way to grasp the city's scale is a relaxing ferry ride between Europe and Asia. When you return to the docks, make sure to try the legendary grilled fish sandwich (balık ekmek) from one of the ornate boats moored by the Galata Bridge. It's a quick, fresh, and unforgettable local meal.

Quaint Cafes and Turkish Coffee Culture

No visit Istanbul is complete without embracing the ancient tradition of Turkish coffee. This potent, finely brewed drink is an essential social ritual.

  • The Ritual: The coffee is dark, strong, and traditionally served with Turkish delight. The fun part? After you finish, local tradition holds that you can have your fortune read from the coffee grounds left in the cup!
  • Where to Go: Seek out the charming cafes in neighborhoods like Karaköy or Cihangir for the best brew and atmosphere.

Kadıköy & Moda: Trendy Cafes and Contemporary Culture

The districts of Kadıköy and Moda are the youth and culture hubs of the Asian Side. Here, the vibrant streets are dominated by students, local residents, and independent culture. Look for fantastic street art murals, browse the fresh local food market, and relax with locals in the trendy cafes. This area offers an insight into the true day-to-day life of this major city.

Balat & Fener: Colorful Streets and Rich History

Back on the European side, but far from the Sultanahmet crowds, the UNESCO-listed neighborhoods of Balat and Fener are visually stunning. Wander the steeply sloped, colorful streets lined with brightly painted ottoman architecture houses. It’s a photographer’s dream and a peaceful spot to enjoy a quaint cafe outside the busy city center.

Tips for Your Istanbul Visit

Getting There and Getting Around: International Airports & City Access

  • Access: Istanbul is served by two international airports: Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW). Both have excellent, affordable public transport links (metro/bus) to the city center and key areas like Taksim.
  • Transport: The Istanbulkart is essential. This reusable transport card is your key to the entire network of trams, metros, buses, and ferries, making navigation in this major city simple and affordable.
