What to expect
Embark on a private walking tour to the old port city of Hoi An, recognized since 1999 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for having successfully preserved years of influence from both local and foreign cultures. With convenient hotel pick ups within Da Nang City center, you won't have to worry about the hassle of commuting from one city to another. As soon as you arrive in Hoi An, you'll proceed on foot through streets cars and motorbikes have no access to. Your first stop in the tour is the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, an ornate Chinese style temple that was first built as a traditional assembly area in which the ethnic Chinese Phuc Kien (Fujian) tribes could come together and socialize, before it was turned into a place of worship. Make your way to the Old House of Tan Ky, described as the perfect example of an 18th century merchant's house that has been well maintained by over 7 generations and counting. In the Old House, your guide will take you through the antique-filled rooms where you'll find relics of the prospering trade cultural exchanges between the Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese. As you continue the tour, you'll find another beautifully preserved 18th century piece - the Japanese Covered Bridge, the most famous bridge of its kind in Vietnam and probably the most visited tourist spot in the city, built by the Japanese community back in the day to reach the Chinese quarters. Your last stop in the tour is another historic house just a few steps away from the Japanese Covered Bridge. The Phung Hung House is a two storey building that features a fusion of Chinese and Japanese architectural design, plus handicrafts that showcase the culture and heritage of Vietnam. When your tour finally comes to an end here, you can choose to board the shuttle back to your hotel, or you can spend the rest of your day strolling around the streets until 9:00pm, the latest departure time back to Da Nang. A small tip - stay 'til after sunset and see the colorful lanterns illuminate the pebbled streets of the old city! It's a sight you wouldn't want to miss.

Reviews
We enjoyed our day trip to Hoi An. We were picked up from our hotel in Da Nang, and our guide Jackie was kind and attentive. She took us to five places in Hoi An and shared interesting information about the city's history and culture. After the 2-hour guided tour, we had free time to explore on our own. It was very hot, so we recommend bringing a hat or umbrella. The shops were a bit pricey, but bargaining was possible. In the evening, we stayed to see the beautiful lanterns light up the city before returning to our pickup point for the 7:00 PM transfer back. Overall, it was a great experience, and we recommend this tour.
The trip is worth it, especially if you like to go to historical and cultural significant places. We were picked up from the hotel in the morning and dropped off in front of the Hoi An Museum where we met our tour guide. We walked around the Old Town and even watched a Vietnamese performance at the air conditioned (but small) Performing Arts Center. We had lunch at Hoi An before we were picked up and dropped off to the hotel in the afternoon.
We booked this tour in a rush, but this turned out to be an awesome experience. Our guide was good, pick and drop were smooth. Great activity for people who want to cover Hoi an and experience there culture in half a day. You will lot of Chinese temples, Lanterns on streets, Lake with Lanterns at night, beautiful theatre show. Great shopping experience also.
Contact the number and communication is seemless and responsive. Coordinator did a good job areanfing pickup, meetup and return to hotel. Fletcher and Lyn were our guides and provided us with information about history of Hoi An.
Having a private tour with round-trip transfers to and from Da Nang is really convenient. Our guide, Harry, was very kind and friendly. The whole itinerary was relaxing and stress-free. It seems the company has guides who can speak Chinese; you can inquire if needed. The guided tour lasts about 2 hours, and you can spend the rest of the time exploring the streets of Hoi An on your own. Hoi An unexpectedly has quite a few shops to wander around and browse. The latest pick-up time is 9 PM, so you can also visit the Hoi An Night Market before returning to Da Nang. Overall, highly recommended.
I like our tour guide Chun is passionate about sharing and is very informative!
Private car was sent to pick us up at our hotel along Han River which was very convenient. About 40min ride to our meetup point at a coffee shop in Hoi An. Bought some coffee to bring home too! Jackie was our guide and she was extremely fluent in English and informative, sharing tidbits of her own family based in Hoi An for a deeper understanding of the culture. Watched a nice performance at the small theatre before started the walking tour. Took the afternoon tour so we could see Hoi An at night. Explored the different landmarks and streets of Hoi An till dinnertime, where we were introduced to Jackie's favourite Banh Mi, visited by Anthony Bourdain. It was yummy. We ended off with dinner along the riverbed and walked around the night market before our requested pickup at 8.30pm. Highly recommended. Thank you Jackie!
This is very worth it! If possible request for the guide Fletcher, he’s the best guide I’ve ever met and I highly recommend him. He’s English speaking so don’t worry if you’re afraid. He will bring you around to see the views and explains everything to you. He will also make sure your trip is smooth and he’s willing to go the extra mile to help you in case you needed help.
For December 20, 2019 So far, this is the only Vietnam tour we booked with Klook that I am very satisfied with. I thoroughly enjoyed this private walking tour and our own food trip afterwards. Our guide Jackie is very nice and is the best English-speaking guide we had among all the other Vietnam tours we booked here. She gave us a very informative tour and also introduced us to the very delicious food in Hoi An (including the best banh mi in the world as per Anthony Bourdain). I am also happy with the private car transfer back to our hotel in Da Nang as the latest time they allowed for the transfer back was 9 pm so we were able to walk around the night market and enjoy the lanterns. Another plus is the easy communication and the accommodation that their company showed us. No regrets in booking this tour. In fact, I would highly recommend it to others.
Emma is a friendly and helpful guide well versed in English and Mandarin as well. She brought us to try interesting food and sights. Highly recommended.
