This is my first time visiting the American West. Since I didn't want to drive, I decided to book this "Monterey & Carmel-by-the-Sea & 17-Mile Drive Day Tour (from San Francisco)." The driver and guide for this day tour was Mr. Donnie. During the trip, he would use the loudspeaker to introduce the attractions along the way and precautions ⚠️ (including not disturbing others, not using cell phones for calls 📞, arrival times at attractions, and recommending using the restroom 🚻 beforehand). We visited Monterey's Cannery Row (the aquarium is optional and costs $65 💲, which you can purchase at your own expense; it's located on Cannery Row), my favorite 17-Mile Drive with its stunning natural scenery 😍, and finally, the town of Carmel-by-the-Sea (full of 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 American style). Thanks to Klook's day tour, even those who don't drive can travel from San Francisco! 😊😊😊
I enjoyed this trip even though the bus journey is long, but the coastal view along the way is just gorgeous. You will want to sit on the right side (when facing the front) of the bus. we were quite fortunate with the fog clearing up some of the times for us to have a good view of the ocean. I wish the stop at Monterey could be longer by half hour as we only have time for lunch. All the restaurants were pretty busy on a Sunday. Carmel by the sea is so charming and I also hope it could be longer by half hour. The stop at Pebble Beach is definitely a bonus if you are into golf. Again, not enough time to shop. haha!
The tour guide was enthusiastic and provided detailed explanations, and the driver drove very smoothly and was very knowledgeable about the attractions. Most importantly, the scenery was incredibly beautiful; driving along the Pacific Ocean and admiring the coastline was definitely worth dedicating a day to if you're visiting San Francisco!
It was a fun tour. The tour guide Danny is funny and helpful. He has a lot of trivia as soon as we rode the bus in San Francisco. He is accommodating. Be sure to tell him what you want or just talk to him. The itinerary for the day is packed so make sure you have a lot of energy. I suggest you sit on the right side of the bus to see the good ocean view during the drive. Lol we were seated on the left. But it was good because Danny even made the effort to slow down and sometimes stop so we can take good pictures.
Awesome day trip and perfect weather! Good if you want to visit places outside of San Francisco
This trip was exactly the opposite of my other trip to San Francisco. The tour guide was too old to talk and miscounted the number of people. The most ridiculous thing was that at the last stop when all the group members got on the bus, he didn’t know where he was and asked the driver to find him, so he was late. Set off. The driver also acted as a tour guide and there was no need for such a tour guide at all. In terms of itinerary, the seaside scenery is magnificent and worth a visit, but don’t expect too much from the small towns. If you have been to Europe, there is nothing special about the two small towns. Just find a place to sit and wait for the meeting. The driver's presence is the highlight of this trip.
This tour is fantastic. We had so much fun because of the scenic views on our way to Carmel and Monterey. Highly recommended. Thanks Klook! 😊😊
