Travel down the Upper Waiau River to Lake Manapouri by jet boat and enjoy plenty of 360’ spins and high-speeds while also making stops along the way to soak up the amazing surrounds. Spot trout in crystal-clear water; find yourself among three Lord of the Rings film locations and hear the inside scoop on the logistics of filming in a National Park; and even turn off the engine to let the gentle current take over while listening for native birds.

The mouth of the river opens onto Lake Manapouri – named NZ’s most beautiful Lake - and provides one of the most impressive views in Fiordland – if not all of NZ. Here you'll have the unique opportunity to experience solitude and silence as you look towards Leaning Peak – the entrance of Doubtful Sound- and some of the Lake’s 33 islands including Pomona Island, which is predator free. This mystical place is not to missed and our Fiordland Jet boat is almost always the only powered craft for miles. Your guide will then take the boat ashore as guests disembark into Fiordland National Park for a short nature stroll to learn a bit about the local flora and fauna and local conservation efforts.

Then - floating among the remote waters of Lake Manapouri and surrounded by towering mountains - step straight from the jet boat to the seaplane’s float. A ‘water transfer’ such as this is truly unique and to do so with a backdrop as magnificent as Fiordland National Park is sure to impress.
