We booked the private car charter from Bentota, Sri Lanka to Galle/Mirissa, via Klook.com. Right after the trip booking, the supervisor reached out, and suggested some alternate itineraries. We chose the one that covered both Mirissa and Galle. In retrospect, it was a mistake because it is impossible to do both in one day. The supervisor probably knew about it, but asked us 20 USD additional for Mirissa which we paid up. He should have told us that time wouldn’t be enough for it. First of all, the car that we received was subpar. It was a hatchback instead of a sedan. The AC wasn’t working so we kept the windows open. Out of the windows, one of them wasn’t opening up. Throughout the route, because of the open window, we smelled petrol fumes. Uber offers better cars than this so will suggest you take that. Coming to our driver, Mr. Mendis. He kept trying to further change our itinerary by suggesting more and more activities. Every destination we reached, he kept suggesting other things to do, confusing us to no extent. He kept following us, including to a bar where we stopped for a coconut water and to use the loo. And he promptly ordered a drink for himself as well. This is absolutely unprofessional - I have never seen this kind of behaviour. It was only at Galle that he stayed back, and then he made us wait for 15-20 mins before picking us up for hotel. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience and a very over-priced one. The weather was rainy so we couldn’t enjoy the beaches at Mirissa, but Galle is beautiful and needs an entire day dedicated to itself. Had the supervisor or the driver guided us properly, we could have enjoyed more. Won’t recommend this tour company at all.
