Review for: From Da Nang: Dong Giang Heaven Gate Full-Day Tour (Korean Guide)

I looked into local taxi prices, but decided a guided tour, including a guide, would be better, so I booked through Klook. We were apparently their first customers 😅. Our guide, Dai, was incredibly kind and cheerful. He picked us up at our hotel at the agreed-upon time and dropped us back off at the hotel. The road to Dong Giang is a bit winding, so I recommend that anyone prone to motion sickness take some medication beforehand. Dong Giang is a village where the Co Tu ethnic minority lives, and it was developed as a tourist destination three years ago. You can enjoy a glass bridge, cable car, waterfall, and caves. Please note that there are some stairs at the glass bridge, waterfall, and caves. Even my father, who is almost seventy, managed to climb them well. At the waterfall, you can swim and enjoy paddle boating. It's not a huge area, but it's big enough for people to cool off. However, there are no towels or shower facilities, so please keep that in mind. Guide Dai can communicate in Korean and provided excellent explanations about the vegetation in Dong Giang. I enjoy learning about plant names, so it was great to discover the names of various plants like the Osaek flower, Bongbongnabu, Eueotbai tree, and Sim flower. We took the tour during the day, but apparently, there's a traditional Co Tu ethnic dance performance every night at 8 PM. Although it's at an altitude of 900 meters, it can be a bit hot in the strong morning sun. If you can adjust your schedule, it might be a good idea to depart around 2 PM and stay to watch the performance. Lunch was provided at Dong Giang, and it was decent. However, if you're not usually a fan of Southeast Asian food, it might be a good idea to bring something like seasoned seaweed. The guide even brought us beer and sugarcane juice, which was a nice touch. We spent about 4 hours leisurely sightseeing. Since it was a weekday, there weren't many people. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to explore Dong Giang, a nearby area of Da Nang!
