What to expect

Firstly, your twin engine Jet boat roars across crystal clear Lake Wakatipu at breath-taking speed, surrounded by majestic mountains and mesmerising scenery. Then you zoom under the Kawarau Dam onto the deep green waters of the Kawarau River, complete with lots of 360° spins. Next the adventure heightens as your driver navigates the fast moving currents of the narrow braided Shotover River, racing up the shallow channels at speeds of up to 95KPH in water that’s often less than 10cm deep.

Fantastic experience! The best advantage is that you get a full hour to soak in this exhilarating experience! Our boat instructor Luke had a great sense of humour and told interesting tales about the Shotover river and Lake wakatipu!
It was a long, exciting, and fun experience! If you're enthusiastic enough, the instructor will give you plenty of thrilling spins. I recommend wearing a waterproof and windproof jacket or a raincoat (with a hood), because your hair will definitely get wet! You can wear a phone lanyard so you don't have to worry about your phone flying out while recording videos or taking pictures!
Was heaps of fun and well worth the money! Jet boat rides are usually only about 20-30 minutes so this gave you plenty of time to experience the thrill. You get to go down the 2 main rivers and the sights are beautiful! A few of us in our group felt a bit motion sick afterwards but it was still so much fun!

We originally booked for 3 PM, but I told the staff we were still eating and asked if we could extend it to 4 PM. They quickly helped us reschedule. The experience was incredibly exciting, speeding across the lake for about 50 minutes. I highly recommend trying it out!

We had a great time on the shotover jet, it was so exhilarating. If you want the most thrill (and to get a bit wet), sit at the front side. It’s advertised as being an hour long but was more like 45 mins as boat was late arriving and early dropping us back.
It was so much fun! Throughout the trip, we saw Queenstown's lake, and Jack was an excellent boat captain. The scenery was beautiful, and he even stopped to let us take photos.
