Reviews
To say we enjoyed this tour would be an understatement. We originally booked the 2 PM tour, but arrived early and were kindly accommodated after just a 20-minute wait. We also underestimated Hanoi’s heat, but our guide, Lucy, kept us so engaged that we barely noticed. It felt less like a formal tour and more like exploring the city with a local friend. You could probably visit the same food spots on your own, but what made this experience worth every penny was Lucy. She shared the stories behind each dish, local traditions, and even taught us a few Vietnamese terms, making the experience far more meaningful. The food was fantastic, with generous portions and authentic local favorites we would never have found on our own. Out of everything we did during our 7-day Vietnam trip, this was one of our favorite experiences. What stayed with us most was not just the food but the warmth of the people, from Lucy to the vendors at each stop, and Dummy the cat. If you can, ask for Lucy!
Me and my husband joined this food walking tour around Old Quater, Flora was our guide, he is a funny guy, very fluent in English (with his British accent 😁)! We loved all the food, our fav were BUN Cha and Dry mix pho, the best! We had Bun Cha, Egg Cofee, 2 kinds of Pho (Roll and Dry), Banh My, and the last was dessert coconut ice cream with sticky rice! After that we went to the train street. Amazing experience!
The food tour was fun and enlighting, Daniel was really knowledeable about everything in Hanoi, all of our questions was answered by him confidently. The food was good and we are so full! we will definitely come back. Thanks Daniel! 🫰🏻
Had such a great experience with the walking food tour! Chris was an amazing guide — very knowledgeable, friendly, and truly went beyond just showing us places to eat. He shared stories, local insights, and made the whole tour fun and memorable. Every stop was worth it. Highly recommended!
We booked this food tour last minute, but happy we did! Our tour guide was Mac and he did a great job! He was friendly and spoke to our group to get to know us. The food spots he took us to were great! We had a few Bun Cha and Banh Mi's across Ha Noi and the (2) locations he took us to were the best! Lastly, he took us to the famous train street, where we got drinks and sat right beside the train! Thanks Mac!
Our tour guide is Joy from Crossing Vietnam Tour. Joy is very knowledgeable and is able to navigate the streets of Hanoi. This tour is recommended to first time Hanoi visitors as you will get a small glimpse of Hanoi’s food scene and for you to try different dishes.
highly recommended. our tour guide, Evelyn, has a good grasp of the English language that’s why she can communicate well with the group (we are a mix of 9 European, American and Asian tourists). although the food/snacks mentioned in the itinerary were different than what we went to, it was all good! though I kinda missed some cafes featured in the pictures. all in all, it was a relaxing walking trip that will leave your tummies and hearts full.
We did the 4pm private walking food tour with train visit on our first day in Hanoi. Highly recommend this if it’s your first time in Hanoi like us. The tour was a really good introduction to authentic Vietnamese cuisine. To my surprise, I actually like every dish served. However, for me, the egg coffee is good to try once! Haha. We were also lucky cos we saw the train passed twice on both sides (left and right). It was a wonder experience. We asked our guide to leave us at the Hoan Kiem Lake as our last stop so we can explore and wander on our own. Overall, I’d highly recommend this tour for first timers! Bonus: Tour guide will help and teach you how to cross the busy streets of Hanoi.
itinerary: The tour overall was excellent the tour brought us around Old Quarter and provided a brief tour and history of the place and info about the food. guide: The guide (Olivia) was very knowledgeable and accommodating the entire tour gaveus time to enjoy the food and drinks while on the tour.
We were having a good day with V and Jenny. Both guides were very attentive, kind and always ready to help. We were actually running late from the airport. They were willing to wait for us about 40 minutes. Really appreciate that. This trip is highly recommended especially to those who is first time in Hanoi.
