- Weizhou Island is a resort in China where Bryde's whales can be encountered inshore. From December to April of the following year, more than 60 Bryde's whales will visit this sea area as scheduled to start an exclusive "meal season", with a whale sighting rate of over 80%. These gentle marine behemoths average 12 meters in length, have dark gray backs, and have particularly striking sickle-shaped dorsal fins. They look adorable when they open their mouths to prey and are affectionately called "meal whales" by tourists.
