- 【About Mogao Grottoes】
- Team visits must strictly follow the actual reserved sessions of the Mogao Grottoes. On the same day, tourists in the same group may be arranged to visit the Mogao Grottoes at different times. At the same time, the guide will adjust the itinerary as appropriate according to the reservation situation of the Mogao Grottoes, and the number of days of the visit will be adjusted after arriving in Dunhuang.
- Since 2020, a full online real-name reservation system has been implemented for tickets, and reservations are made online 30 days in advance.
- From July 1st to August 31st, the group tour includes Mogao Grottoes Class B tickets (4 physical caves + free visit to the Dunhuang Grottoes Cultural Relics Protection and Research Exhibition Center, etc. + round-trip transportation to Mogao Grottoes. Class B tickets are reserved one month in advance). The ticket price is 100 yuan/adult, and the ticket price difference has been deducted from the quotation, so no fee can be refunded.
- From July 1st to August 31st, if tourists want to visit Class A tickets, and there are tickets on the official website of Mogao Grottoes, they can pay a difference of 138 yuan/person to issue tickets on behalf of them; or make their own reservations for Mogao Grottoes Class A tickets on the official website. If you make a reservation successfully by yourself, a ticket fee of 100 yuan/person will be refunded.
- 6,000 normal tickets are sold for each visiting day (8 physical caves + 2 movies in the digital cinema). After the normal tickets are sold out, the Dunhuang Research Institute will open the pre-sale of emergency tickets depending on the situation (the specific opening situation cannot be predicted). 12,000 emergency visit tickets (including visits to 4 physical caves). Once sold out, visits will not be arranged. If Mogao Grottoes has special receptions or too many visitors and no tickets are available, visits cannot be arranged, and the ticket price will be refunded or a visit to the sister caves of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes - Yulin Grottoes (40 yuan/adult ticket + 60 yuan/person transportation fee) or West Thousand Buddha Caves (30 yuan/adult ticket + 40 yuan/person transportation fee) will be arranged and the price difference will be refunded. The specific arrangements will be made by the guide according to the local actual situation.
- According to the online ticket purchase system of Mogao Grottoes, if you cancel your reservation, Mogao Grottoes will charge the following losses: If the refund is made within 15 days (inclusive) from the reserved visit time, 5% of the ticket price will be charged; if the refund is made more than 24 hours but within 48 hours (inclusive) from the reserved visit time, 10% of the ticket price will be charged; if the refund is made within 24 hours (inclusive) from the reserved visit time, 20% of the ticket price will be charged; if the refund is made after the reserved visit time has expired, 50% of the ticket price will be charged.
- About refunds: The official regulations of Mogao Grottoes stipulate that tickets are sold in the form of packages. In case of special circumstances in Mogao Grottoes, natural disasters, or the daily reception volume exceeds the limit, and visits cannot be made, any of these items will not be unbundled for refunds, subject to the official announcement of Mogao Grottoes. Discount tickets will be refunded by the tour guide on site.
- Notice: Because children aged 2-12 do not include tickets, according to the regulations of Mogao Grottoes Scenic Area, children aged 4 and above (including 4 years old) need to purchase tickets to enter the scenic area. Mogao Grottoes tickets need to be reserved online 30 days in advance. When making reservations for adults, reservations will be made for children together. When arriving to visit the Mogao Grottoes, the tour guide will collect the actual expenses incurred by the children, so please give the children's ticket fees to the tour guide in cash.
- 【If Mogao Grottoes has special receptions or regular tickets and emergency tickets have not been successfully reserved, the following arrangements can be made】 Arrange a visit to the West Thousand Buddha Caves located 35 kilometers west of Dunhuang City, which is known as the sister cave of Mogao Grottoes, or visit Yulin Grottoes, and refund the price difference of 60 yuan per person; Mogao Grottoes is a world cultural heritage integrating preciousness and fragility, which requires our careful care. If you encounter cave closures due to rain or sandstorm weather during the visit, please cooperate with the staff’s arrangements. If the opening is delayed, the visit plan will be postponed. If you cannot visit, the ticket fee will be refunded according to the regulations of Mogao Grottoes.
