Running from November 14 to January 4 at Level 4, Kai Tak Mall 2, this exhibition invites everyone to embark on an adventure with the Moomin family!
Celebrating Moomin's 80th anniversary, the exhibition immerses fans in the enchanting world of the very first story, ''The Moomins and the Great Flood''. In this tale, Moominmamma takes little Moomintroll on a journey to find his missing father. They traverse a mysterious dark forest, encountering all sorts of peculiar and fascinating creatures. Along the way, they befriend the timid little creature Sniff, meet a solitary old gentleman, and even discover a house made of candy. Suddenly, heavy rain pours down, and a great flood sweeps through, leaving Moomintroll and his friends adrift on the water—launching a thrilling adventure!
Join us in this exhilarating journey with the Moomins, and witness how the family finally land in Moominvalley and uncover the Moominhouse, the iconic centrepiece of our 80th-anniversary celebrations!

10x better than the Miffy exhibition in east point city. it is apparent that a lot more effort, time and $ has been invested into this Moomin exhibition. it’s truly worth a visit especially if one is a Moomin fan, or has interest in learning more about Moomin, the author, origin and story.
Highly Recommended: This is a must-visit place if you want to learn about the enchanting Moomin stories and the fascinating life of their creator, the artist Tove Jansson. It is a truly worthwhile experience that is perfect for families with children! The exhibition is wonderfully designed to immerse you in the Moomin world, beautifully highlighting the narrative of The Moomins and the Great Flood. As you explore, you feel like you are following Moomintroll and Moominmamma on their search for Moominpappa and a new home. It’s a captivating and memorable journey for all ages.
Bought a "two-person package," and each person will receive two postcards. One of them requires finding stamps in different pavilions to complete it. When finished, the postcard will display a complete pattern, which is quite thoughtful. The entire exhibition has several pavilions, and each venue isn't very large, but the interior decorations are quite beautiful, especially the Moomin House at the end, which is an important photo spot. They also provide coloring tools for visitors to create their own postcards. There's also a pavilion where you can find hidden characters in the dark, which is quite interesting overall. After the exhibition, there are Moomin merchandise sales, but the quality is generally average. I bought a mirror, and when I unwrapped it, I saw that the mirror and the frame were separated.
cute little exhibit for Moomin characters. The setup is not as immersive as I would have thought, but still had photo spots. it was informative, with brief introduction on the history and creator, mixed with a sections based off the first story. gift so at end with exclusive merch too.
We expect a bigger and more diverse exhibition with original artworks, however this is not the case. The overall experience and atmosphere is playful, but more from a child’s perspective, for adults, it’s a bit lack of cultural and history details of moomins development. I do recommend for family with kid to visit for a light and fun experience.
There's a storyline about a great flood, and you can see comics from different years. Besides taking photos, you can also participate in coloring and other small creative activities that attract children. It's very thoughtful. Walking + playing + buying things takes about an hour and a half. The most satisfying souvenir is the 580ml thermos cup, the goose yellow color is very gentle; there's also a lanyard for easy carrying.
This exhibition allowed me to experience the historical background of the Moomin family. What impressed me most was learning that the author already had this great creation 80 years ago, making everyone in the world fall in love with the fairytale protagonist, Moomin. This event allowed us to personally experience the beauty and joy of the fairytale world, and I am very satisfied.
Highly recommended! A very therapeutic and healing exhibition. The scenes are well-designed with lighting and sound effects. There's a space with long tables where people can sit and color in the postcard included with the ticket, and then put it in the on-site mailbox. The organizers will mail it for free! There are very few staff monitoring the exhibition, making it a very relaxing experience. The staff are friendly. The wooden light box given as a gift with the special exhibition is beautiful!
A very good experience. You can see many Moomin-related objects and pictures, which feels very fresh and interesting. Also, you can color and send postcards inside, which feels even more fun.🤓
The Moomin exhibition is thoughtful; most of the text is the same as at Moominvalley Park in Tokyo, Japan, but the installation art is different. The most amazing parts are the forest spirit area and the flooded part.
