Kanazawa: Kenrokuen Tea Ceremony Experience
Kenrokuen Garden, once where the Maeda family of the Kaga Domain hosted honored guests, invites you to enjoy an authentic Japanese tea ceremony. Begin with a short history and a live temae (ritual) by a licensed tea master, learning the meaning of each movement. Even first-timers can join easily with clear guidance. Then make your own matcha and enjoy it with a seasonal sweet from a historic wagashi shop. Photography is welcome.
Notes: “Garden admission (320 yen) not included.” No garden view from the tea room; stroll before or after. Meet at the fountain in front of Kenrokutei. Chairs available. Over 10 minutes late may forfeit participation. Interpreter available by request (private only). Ages 7+. Please help keep a quiet atmosphere.
