🌊 One-Day Trip: Mount Omuro, Izu Ocean View Train, and Jogasaki Coast. From the volcanic summit to the stunning Pacific views, embark on a healing journey that blends nature, cute animals, and coastal scenery. 🌿✨
- Depart from Shinjuku by private car directly to Ito. The first stop is Mount Omuro, resembling a matcha pudding (Mount Omuro cable car will be under maintenance from June 15th to June 25th; the itinerary might change to Mount Komuro or only visit the Izu Cactus Park). Take the chairlift slowly to the summit, where a 360° circular trail offers expansive views. Mount Fuji, Sagami Bay, and the Izu Seven Islands are all visible, making you want to stay forever with the breeze🌬️.
- Next, enter the Izu Cactus Park, which not only boasts 1500 species of cacti and succulents but also features adorable capybaras, squirrel monkeys, kangaroos, and other semi-free-range animals waiting to greet you! The winter-exclusive "Capybara Hot Spring" is definitely a must-see for its cuteness overload♨️.
- The highlight of the afternoon: board the popular Izu Ocean View Train Resort 21🚃! Travel along the Pacific coastline, with the most beautiful section from Izu Kogen to Inatori. Outside the window, you'll see surging waves and a breathtakingly blue sea. Whether it's the Kurofune or Kinmedai train, you can capture the most stunning coastal photos🌊📸.
- Then, head to the Jogasaki Coast, known as the "Hidden Gem of Izu." Standing in the middle of the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge, with lava cliffs below your feet and the Pacific Ocean before your eyes, the howling sea breeze adds a touch of romance to the thrill. Take a stroll along the "Jogasaki Nature Research Road," where every frame offers beautiful scenery with a natural filter.

Reviews
We had a wonderful experience on this Izu day tour! The meeting point was easy to find, and our driver spoke excellent English, making everything easy to understand. He was also very accommodating, especially whenever anyone needed a bathroom break. Although we were disappointed that Mt. Omuro was closed, the tour operator informed us ahead of time that it would be unavailable from June 15 to 25, which we appreciated. Instead, we visited Izu Shaboten Zoo, and it became one of the highlights of our trip. Interacting with the capybaras was so much fun, and many of the animals roamed freely, making the experience even more memorable. Jogasaki Coast was breathtaking, and crossing the Kadonowaki Suspension Bridge offered incredible ocean views. The seaside train ride was also scenic and relaxing. Even without Mt. Omuro, this tour exceeded our expectations and is one I would happily recommend.
The tour was absolutely amazing with beautiful sights and sounds! Thanks so much to Niklaus, our driver and guide, who speaks fluent English as well and shared about the rich history of each spot we visited, and even provided us with rest stops on our journey together!
Our guide olive was the sweetest. From the beginning she made sure we found the meet up spot and all throughout made sure we weren’t left behind. Our trip was filled with fun activities. Sadly visibility wasn’t so good on this day but our guide made it really fun!
We had a wonderful experience on this tour, made even better by our excellent guide, Lin Chenxuan. He was punctual and well-prepared, which set a positive tone for the day. Lin was also warm, pleasant, and easy to talk to, making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Throughout the tour, he was attentive and highly responsive to our requests, adjusting the pace and details to suit our group’s interests. Questions were answered clearly and patiently, and small thoughtful touches showed genuine care for our experience. Everything ran smoothly and stress-free, allowing us to fully enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. It was a well-organized, enjoyable tour, and the guide’s professionalism and friendly attitude truly made a difference. We would happily recommend this tour and guide to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable experience.
This day trip to Izu is packed with activities, making it perfect for travelers who want to experience Izu's natural scenery and unique culture in a short amount of time. Trip Highlights and Impressions: 1. Mt. Omuro and Cactus Animal Park: The quintessential Izu combination. Take a cable car up to the crater of Mt. Omuro for a 360-degree view of Sagami Bay and Mt. Fuji. The magnificent expanse of sea and sky is truly refreshing. Following that, visit the Cactus Animal Park. In addition to the diverse plants, the most soothing experience is watching capybaras soaking in hot springs – the warmest scene in winter. 2. Izu Kyuko Seaside Train: The itinerary specifically selected the "Resort 21" train, which has seats facing the ocean, making the train ride more than just transportation; it's a visual feast that allows you to easily admire Izu's magnificent coastline. 3. Jogasaki Coast and Kadowaki Suspension Bridge: Here, you can see the rugged volcanic rock charm of Izu. Standing on the suspension bridge and feeling the powerful waves crashing against the reefs is visually stunning and makes for an excellent photo spot.
had an amazing day exploring the Izu area, was a very eye opening experience travelling along the seaside roads, the driver/guide Andy was very experienced and helpful. He was an amazing driver and made sure we hit all the attractions and got us back to Tokyo early too. the highlight of the trip was the zoo and the kadowaki bridge. we had an amazing time taking photos along the coast. definitely more fun than your typical fuji 5th station tour trip.
Long drive but absolutely worth it. The zoo experience was unbelievable. We would of loved more time to explore the zoo but that wasn't possible. highly recommend.
Our driver was amazing. He was good at letting us know what we were doing each step of the way and making sure we were comfortable. We were 4 women and felt super safe. He was Very quick to respond and very accommodating. Would definitely book with him again. Thank you.
Firstly, this was an amazing day out. what made it worth its value was our Guide. Andy, was incredibly punctual, had clear communication and was genuinely so kind. 100/10 for Andy. as far as the sights all was well worth the value except the Ito Zoo. the zoo itself was a little sad to see especially if you are conscious of the ethics around zoos and animals habitat quality. Capybaras were the main appeal. very cute. outside of that i would highly recommend this tour to anyone
The tour followed the itinerary listed on the website. However, we would have appreciated clearer communication about the time allocated for each stop, rather than being informed at the last minute. For example, we were initially told we had one hour at Mt. Omuro, but after taking the cable car down, the guide texted us that we actually had an extra 1.5 hours and could visit the nearby zoo. We would have preferred to spend more time at Mt. Omuro, so it would have been better to clarify the full 2.5-hour plan from the start. The zoo is quite expensive, mainly because it is known for capybaras. Overall, the trip was still smooth, and Mt. Omuro is truly magnificent.
