Review for: Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal · Kyoto Station

The terminal in Shinjuku was amazing! It felt like an airport for buses. The experience itself was awesome. They departed and arrived on time while there were ports and individualized seats on the bus making it private and still a relaxed travel. It's good for those who are in a budget since you are saving yourself a night of accomodation while also booking a cheap alternative of a train ride to Kyoto.

the ride from Kyoto to Tokyo was very comfortable and quiet. there was ample leg space and storage was available overhead and for checked bags. there was a washroom inside the bus. highly recommended. Bus stops at service area every 2 hours.

It was very comfortable and helpful. The terminal was also very conducive and made things easy for me as a tourist. The bus numbers were clearly displayed on the screen, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bus itself was very comfortable, allowing me to rest peacefully without any disturbances. There were also power outlets available, so I could charge my phone.

Comfortable night bus from Tokyo to Kyoto. The seats were spacious and easy to sleep on, and the bus was clean and quiet. It’s a great budget option for traveling between the two cities and saving time overnight.

Booking ahead is very useful and I’m glad I did. The bus ride was comfortable and smooth. Before the ride, however, I made a mistake of following Klook’s pinned direction and it led me to Shinjuku Station instead of Tokyo Station. That’s on me for not checking ahead but kindly take down that pinned location to avoid confusion. Good thing I had a sense to go to the location hours earlier so I was still able to catch the bus (barely). Follow the map provided by Sakura Expressway Bus instead (emailed a day or two before the booked date).

A good experience. The price is more than half the Shinkansen and saves one night's accommodation. However, the lights turn on every two hours when stopping at service areas, which is not friendly to light sleepers.

Took the night bus from Tokyo to Kyoto and it was a smooth and comfortable ride. The seats were cozy, clean, and reclined well for sleeping. It was also a great way to save on a night’s hotel stay. Arrived on time and well-rested — highly recommend for budget travelers!

such a good way to travel, it’s during the night so you can sleep and wake up next morning in a new city like I did. The price was really good too, they turn of the lights so it’s really dark inside so you can sleep, a few stops during the way to stretch and get some snacks.

The bus stopped too frequently, and the seats were too small to get proper rest. However, overall it was quite good, as it's likely the cheapest way to travel from Tokyo to Kyoto.
