A wonderful ballet superbly danced by the State ballet of Georgia. Choreography décors and customs are top. The performance by the lead ballerina is superbly gracious and skilled. Do not miss it if you have the chance

I loved the orchestra music and how it made the performance come alive in a beautiful way. Grace and beauty in each dance step with the beautiful costumes. I felt that it was disrespectful to the performers and organizers to allow latecomers to enter when the performance had already started. It annoyed and caused disturbance as quite a few of them were searching and weaving through the audiences to get to their seats.

They say the bad parts of a show stand out more than the good ones. Regrettably, this performance exemplified the quote. Watching from above, I could not help but feel the energy of the cast to be one waiting to enjoy their R&R after their last performance, rather than putting up their best last show in Singapore. The corps de ballet in the castle scenes “let their hair down” too much and I was terribly distracted by their “chatter”. A number of them were late by 1 – 2 beats. This diverted my attention from the lead soloists and soloists, whom I felt were the ones really carrying the show hard. It ruined the harmonious image demanded of a classical piece like Swan Lake. Odette’s 32 fouettés were admirable, but incurred a significant amount of travel. I am tempted to believe that it was merely the “curse of the last show” that’s causing all this, but if this is standard that the Georgian State Ballet puts up, I regret that I will not be patronizing them in the immediate future.

It was good for the price and a beauty; however, not world-class. The dance and music sometimes were not as harmonious as it could be.

Watching a Ballet performance was a new experience for my daughters. One liked the scenery/backdrop while the other appreciated the Music. Both chooses the costumes as their favorite. While this is my second time at the MBS Theatre, I appreciate the distance from the stage to our seats.
