What to expect
- In the morning, depart from Lijiang Old Town and first head to Tiger Leaping Gorge (Shangri-La section), a spectacular canyon on the Jinsha River known for its ruggedness. Explore this area to personally experience the awe of nature. After about 2 hours of sightseeing, proceed to Lashi Lake.
- At Lashi Lake, first experience horseback riding through the Ancient Tea Horse Road, a journey through primeval forests and ancient Naxi villages, recreating the glorious history of ancient caravan teams. After about 1 hour of horseback riding, arrive at Lashi Lake Wetland Park, Yunnan Province’s first nature reserve named after “wetland.” The beautiful lake and mountain scenery is perfect for strolling, taking photos, and enjoying the tranquil natural landscape. (Please note: Horseback riding fees are at your own expense on site)
- The entire trip is approximately 8 hours. Lunch will be Naxi-flavored cuisine enjoyed en route (meals at your own expense). Afterwards, return to Lijiang Old Town, concluding a fulfilling and wonderful day trip. This itinerary combines natural scenery, historical culture, and leisure experiences, making it an excellent choice for a day trip around Lijiang.

The tiger leaping gorge is quite impressive. we opt for the electric car ride to save some leg-power. Horse riding at the teahorse ancient route is also quite fun. The village had a pleasant nature atmosphere
