What to expect
This 40 minute scenic flight takes you out of Cairns and to the most famous reef in the world: The Great Barrier Reef. Taking a plane out of Cairns, your group will take a helicopter that will soar over the waters, showing you numerous sights along the way. These include the splendid views along the North Queensland coastline. After seeing the cityscape of Cairns from a 360-degree view in the air, you'll glimpse Green Island, Arlington Reef, Upolu Reef, Double Island, and Palm Cove. From your vantage point in the air, you'll be able to see this famous reef and learn all about it from the in-flight commentary provided by your pilot. Our tour was delayed by an hour because of bad weather (quite unseasonal, considering winter is supposed to be the "dry season"), but honestly they made the right call! We had a brief window of okay weather and good visibility over the reefs. The pilot Jesse was very nice and cheerful; he made me sit beside him seeing that I was travelling solo, and honestly it made the experience so much better! Also, that was one of the smoothest landings I've ever experienced for an aircraft; I didn't even notice we were already on wheels on the runway. Highly recommend this tour! But allow some flexibility in your schedule as it is a very weather-dependent activity: keep an eye on the forecast 2-3 days before locking in a date.
It was good because it went according to schedule. The pilot was friendly and the weather was a bit disappointing, but other than that it was good. The plane did look a bit old.
The whole helicopter experience was great! The driver arrived at the hotel on time to pick us up. The pilot also gave a detailed explanation of the attractions and safety. The pilot's driving skills are quite good, recommended!
It was amazing! They even gave me extra 10 min flight! They were 10 min late to pick me up though. All in all, I was satisfied with them.
Communication with the company was clear and effective. The flight was great if not a little hot in the plane. Hannah our pilot was engaging and very knowledgeable about the area, giving good suggestions on what to do if we had free time.

Take a helicopter ride over the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns for a bird's-eye view. The ocean's blue-green gradient is like a painter's palette, and the coral reefs are absolutely stunning. This is a must-see wonder of a lifetime.
The hotel pickup, safety briefing, and flight were all very smooth. We were also lucky enough to see whales. Highly recommended.
The flight was quite shaky, so I recommend taking some motion sickness medicine!! Also, the cabin was so hot that there was no fresh air, and I almost got heatstroke. I recommend bringing water and a handy fan. A Japanese person picked me up and took me to my next destination, and was very kind. Overall, I recommend it.
Great experience overall, lucky because weather was good, aeroplane a bit old but safe and did not affect experience, incredible views!!! highly reco 🫰🫰
