  • Day 2: Urumqi to Desert Camel (180 km, about 2.5 hours) to Altay (320 km, about 3.5 hours);
  • Day 3: Altay to Ahe Highway to Hemu (220 km, about 4 hours);
  • Day 4: Hemu Morning Mist to Kanas + Three Bays/Kanas Lake to Burqin (140 km, 2.5 hours);
  • Day 5: Burqin to Devil City + afternoon tea (240 km, about 3 hours) to Kuitun (250 km, about 3 hours);
  • Day 6: Kuitun to Sayram Lake + walking with car + light travel photography (310 km, about 4 hours) to Guozigou to Qingshuihe (90 km, about 1.5 hours);
  • Day 7: Qingshuihe to Lavender (June only) to Chaxi Painting Scroll (260 km, 4 hours) to Xinyuan County (180 km);
  • Day 8: Xinyuan to Nalati/Kazakh family visit to Nalati Town (70 km, about 1.5 hours);
  • Day 9: Nalati to Duku Highway (200 km, about 4 hours) to Urumqi Airport/Station for dismissal (240 km, about 2.5 hours);
  • (If Duku is not open or closed, take other roads to return to Urumqi. The journey will be slightly longer)
  • Guests returning today are advised to book flights after 22:00.

He safely drove us through mountains and rivers every day and shared many stories, making our journey richer and warmer. Attention to foreigners: (Duku Highway has steep terrain, and Duku Highway opens every June. The opening time for 25 years is May 31st. After opening, it may be closed due to weather conditions. If it is closed and impassable, take other roads to bypass and return to Urumqi. Foreigners need to charter a car at their own expense to Yining to take a train back.)
