Queenstown Hang Gliding Adventure with Skytrek

I feel great ticking off something this adventurous on my bucket list! I’m so grateful I pushed myself to do this and words cannot describe how magical it was! I was actually very nervous at first, after all, I had to jump off the mountain, but the instructor provided a lot of encouragement and relevant instructions, and I felt full of peace of mind and sense of security. It was just like the instructor said, flying like a bird! The horizontal speed is not very fast, and the vertical height also slowly and continuously decreases, so it’s really not scary! Flying feels really good, it’s more fun and special than paragliding! It's a pity that the scenery is not as beautiful as the paragliding on the Skyline Cable Car, but it is still a great experience!

It's a great experience. The hang glider flies slowly in the air. The pilot can freely control the acceleration and deceleration, ascent and descent. The scenery is beautiful at the moment. You can buy GoPro photos and videos for extra money. I feel that hang gliding is safer than paragliding, and the ropes won’t get tangled. I will definitely try it again if I have the chance.

We conducted thorough practice and explanation for the paragliding flight, and the equipment was double-checked before takeoff. The only drawback was that the email did not specify arriving half an hour early.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great, so I didn't get a chance to go paragliding. Hopefully, I'll have another opportunity to visit Queenstown, New Zealand, and try it in the future!
