Every cooking class is unique. So I didn't expect it to be better than the other classes I've been too. Food Playground teaches you the culture and how the food came to be. We cooked Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce, Char Kway Teow and Sago Gula Melaka. It was really an excellent recipe because I've tried the same food at other restaurant, but the food we cooked was way better (no bias). The location was east to locate, jusr right beside Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. When you arrive, you will be greeted by Mrs Lee and Helen. They offer variety of drinks from coffee, tea, chocolate and water. Biscuits are also available. I had fun in the little game before the cooking start to warm us up. The place is super clean. I love that we were just 3 ladies for today. That allows us to take our time, be comfortable with one another and Helen was able to focus on us allowing us to fully absorb the lessons. The pictures and recipes are sent through email. It was definitely a fun experience!
Excellent class! Sara was a great instructor and explained the history and context of each dish we made. I came out of the class with a much greater appreciation for the effort it takes to prepare this delicious cuisine!
Took this class back in september. Was sad because I got a call a week prior telling me that the class on my scheduled date was cancelled so I had to choose another date which means different set of dishes to cook. :( Although disappointed, I still went to the class and we cooked really nice dishes esp the Sambal Prawns. The instructors were nice and patient enough to help us and they also emailed the recipes and our photos to us. Thank youuuu!
I participated in the experience with my 11 and 9-year-old children, and it was a very enjoyable experience. The cooking wasn't difficult, and they provided excellent guidance to prevent the children from getting hurt. The food was also very delicious. However, since it's a class for adults, 3 hours might be a bit long depending on the children's ages. The 11-year-old enjoyed the entire class, but the 9-year-old had a little trouble listening to the explanations for a long time. Nevertheless, they said it was a very fun experience. Experience: Very good experience Location: Very accessible Instructor: Strives to ensure everyone has a good time and shares a lot of food-related information
I joined the class by myself. All participants were nice, we had a good conversation during the class. Sara taught us all process gently and talked some singapore food culture. and she took so many photos for us. The food I made were so delicious. highly recommend.
The cooking class was really fun! Sara was a great teacher, really loved all the food and new things learned not only about the food but also the culture. Will definitely come back!
