Reviews summaryWonderful boat ride out to Guishan Island. We saw schools of dolphin play! The island is also quite pretty after we landed though the walk was a bit short it was good to hear the history. the meet up location was confusing. You need to go into the Visitor Station on the 1st floor past the gift shop to register. That’s not quite clear from Klook instructions. Be sure to arrive early. They never emailed the night before like they said will happen. Just watch the weather.
I went whale watching at Turtle Island in Yilan today, and it was amazing! 🚢 The morning sun shining on the sea was so relaxing. 🤩 We took a boat out to sea and enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the way. ⛰️ Then, we saw so many whales jumping on the surface of the water, it was so exciting! 🐳 Their figures were truly amazing, and I couldn't help but keep taking pictures. 📸 Near Turtle Island, you can also see special geographical landscapes, like the turtle head of the island. 🐢 There's also a chance to see cute dolphins 🐬 swimming around the boat, so adorable! This whale watching trip was so worth it, and it filled me with awe for the ocean. 🌊 Yilan is truly a beautiful place, I'll definitely come back to visit again! 🥳 I recommend everyone to experience it! 💯 #YilanTurtleIslandWhaleWatching #TurtleIsland #WhaleWatching #TaiwanTravel #Dolphin #Whale
It is windy and cloudy and we are blessed with no rain. Managed to see the whales, it is so amazing and beautiful. The tour guide brought us around around the island and talked about the history of the island. Is a nice experience and worth to go. Whale watching is the highlight of this trip!
Excellent tour conducted in Mandarin, guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and willing to share. The climb was definitely manageable with paved concrete. There was also a tour of the former military installations and civilian buildings on the island after we came back down. All in all, a great experience!
The toilet at the check-in office is only open at 8:00, so it cannot be used before checking in for the boat to board Hill 401. If you need it, you have to find another place to use it! An additional $100 per person cleaning fee will be charged on the day of landing. The boat is very novel and comfortable. Glasses of water are provided. The cabin is air-conditioned and the view from the windows is great. It is also very pleasant to sit outside and sway with the wind and waves. Both indoor and outdoor seats are very good! The tour guide on the boat gave a great explanation! The weather in April is cool, just right for climbing high ground! Remember to bring your own lunch (there is also a snack shop on the island), umbrella/hat, the trails are shaded, but it was quite sunny when you go around the island ~ This itinerary is great! The scenery at Hill 401 is very beautiful. Although the Milky Lake did not erupt much that day, it was still worth it!
Originally, we chose a 3-in-1 itinerary, but because Guishan Island was still under maintenance two days before the trip, the shipping company asked if it could be changed to a 2-in-1 itinerary. On the day of the trip, due to bad weather, the shipping company failed to find any trace of the whales and dolphins after repeated searches. During the contact with the shipping company and on the day of the trip, the staff of the shipping company were kind and courteous. After the trip, I asked Klook customer service staff handled matters related to this trip, and the customer service staff (manual customer service) also responded quickly and handled the matter. Although this time we only left the island and it was gray, we did see the Milk Sea, which was very beautiful. It would be even more beautiful if the weather was good. I hope I can go there again next year if I have the opportunity and time. I still really want to see whales🐳 and dolphins🐬, and I also want to go to the island.
this was one of the coolest tours we have booked on klook! the landscapes were beautiful and seeing wild dolphins was such a memorable experience. when landing on the island, it wasn’t over crowded with tourists which made everything even more beautiful. although we only speak english we were lucky enough to have met a family that speaks chinese to help translate for us. thank you to them :) please book this tour. it will be so worth your money especially if you can see dolphins or whales!
Before checking in, the store owner will come to the store to confirm whether you have arrived. There is also a guided tour throughout the trip. At the end of the dolphin watching, I was lucky enough to see a large group of dolphins, and they also performed a dolphin leaping through the dragon gate show. Finally, they added a spinner dolphin flipping show. The boat was amazing, and we even saw baby dolphins, and finally we went on a cruise with the boat. On the way back, we chatted with the crew. The original itinerary was to watch dolphins before landing on the island. However, their lead boat did not find dolphins in the morning, so they adjusted the itinerary. At the end of the landing, the lead boat sent good news that dolphins were found. Later, We also managed to see dolphins, about 200 of them nearby. It was a great experience to participate in 3-in-1 for the first time, and the store service staff were also very attentive and attentive. A very worthwhile trip,
I had been to Taiwan several times, but I wanted to go somewhere niche, and when I was researching, I came across Guishan Island, so I decided to participate. Actually, I had originally booked a tour with another tour company, but even the day before, I had not received any confirmation and was still in the middle of recruiting participants, so I was unsure whether it would go ahead. When I was in trouble, I sent a message from Klook's reservation page and they immediately sent me a detailed message, such as when the tour was decided and when I should make the reservation, so I used Klook. Also, it was a little cheaper because there was a non-refundable restriction. If there is a change in the meeting time by the day of participation, you will receive a message, so it's a good idea to check it. First, go to the port terminal attached in the photo to meet up, show your voucher there and pay $100. Snacks, water, sunscreen, etc. were also sold at the terminal. The reception told me what time to return, and when the time came, my name was called and I followed the guide. The weather was good on the day I participated, and I didn't get seasick, which I was most worried about, and the waves were calm. We went straight to the island, immediately climbed the 401 hill, and it was all stairs to the top. It took about an hour to arrive. The view from the top and the milk blue springing around the island were mystical. It was cloudy that day, so the area of the milk blue was small, but the tour guide said that it would be very beautiful if it was sunny. There was a rest time after descending, so you could go to the toilet and eat lunch. It is recommended to bring sandwiches and bread that are not easily damaged in advance. I think you should drink more than 1 liter of water, especially in the summer. After descending, we walked around the island, went to the pond and military tunnel, and finally returned to the boat and went around the island. Since it was not whale watching, I think the actual time on the boat was short. If you are worried about seasickness, it is recommended to go somewhere other than whale watching. By the way, I was the only Japanese person there, and the guide was always enthusiastically explaining things in Chinese during the tour, so it is best if you can understand Chinese. However, the kind participants translated in English and cared about me, and I felt the warmth of the Taiwanese people. (One of the participants drove me to the station.) If you don't speak Chinese and are going alone, it might be a good idea to greet the participants on the boat if they seem to speak English. They might even help you throughout the tour. Either way, this is a tour you should definitely take if you come to Taiwan! If you go a little further, you'll find Jiaoxi, famous for its hot springs, and Toucheng, famous for its night market, so be sure to check them out after joining the tour.
Taking into account the hot summer weather, my friends and I wanted to go whale watching, so we did not challenge the 401 Peak Summit itinerary. (Secretly deciding to challenge next time) I think the arrangement of this trip was generally smooth: the meeting place is easy to find, there are enough staff on weekdays, and there is almost anyone to help at any time. Consumers are reminded to pay attention to their itinerary and boat name and time. Although the rest time on Guishan Island is slightly insufficient, considering the differences in weather and individual physical conditions, the team leader will not force everyone to participate in the entire trip. He even shared that in the past, there were often fewer people as he left 😅Due to seasickness in the hot summer, grocery stores have limited rest and shopping hours. I hope you can take seasickness medicine or bring your own snacks to regain your strength~
