Northern Lights Guided Tour with Glacier & Waterfalls Hike

The tour guide is knowledgeable, detailed and humorous. He will also teach you how to use your mobile phone and camera to set the values for aurora photography. On the way, we stopped at a place with no light pollution but very cold to watch the aurora. Bus Travel Iceland prepared a cup of hot chocolate for each group member, which was really a timely help! I happened to encounter an aurora outbreak and was very moved.

The driver took us to a very professional mountain to see the aurora. He also helped us take photos with one eye and made hot cocoa for us to drink. It was very worthwhile.

Bjarni, our Northern Lights leader, was fabulous. He is knowledgeable and goes all out to fulfil our dream. We stopped on many occasions along the way and finally caught a strong one after 2-3 hours. However, the lights are bare to the eyes but look amazing on camera. This is the type of tour you would want to sign up for, instead of the large tours that drop you at one location and make you wait. We signed up for a small group tour, which we did not regret, and it was efficient. Pick-up was a little messy, but definitely not the company’s fault. All the different vehicles will come to this same stop and start calling out names, so you will have to be attentive around a group of 50ish humans (for my particular night).

I arrived in Iceland that afternoon and purchased a temporary super jeep itinerary. KLOOK was very efficient and the pick-up and drop-off locations were also very clear. The weather in Iceland is changeable in winter. The sun shines brightly during the day, but the clouds thicken at night. The tour guide Pall was very patient in taking us to look for the aurora. He used a professional camera to take photos for us. The photos he took were better than those taken by mobile phones. There was also hot chocolate. The tour, although northern lights was cancelled, was still a great one. The Golden Circle tour was a great intro to Iceland. The tour guide was entertaining and helpful!

The guide was very funny and knowledgeable. The instructions were clear. Our initial scheduled tour got cancelled due to weather, but we were able to see the Aurora and got some nice pictures on the rescheduled tour.
