Sadly the staff at reception were rather rude, and parking system was not adequately explained, for instance, we discovered later we had to pay £10 through a QR code and we could park for free only for a limited time.
Although the room was clean, it really needed maintenance: the toilet flush made a very loud, unpleasant noise (honestly, it sounded like a ship’s siren!) and also the tap wasn’t working properly either.
Despite being listed in the description, the sei-Fi was non-existent, and when asked about it, staff offered poor excuses.
Breakfast was ok and staff members there were friendly.
The Spa was good, although some walls are in need of maintenance; the same applies to the changing rooms, as some lockers do not close.

This hotel had the feel of an old 1980s hotel that had been poorly maintained over the years by the owners. The room was clean but on our second morning we weren't able to have a shower because the shower didn't work. The tap water was also like an oven while the beds were like rocks. Despite promising wi-fi this too was non-existent.
The staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok but during our stay there was always a feeling of what was going to go wrong next.

Room was clean , AC helped a lot plenty tea and coffee . Good view of the square.
Didn’t appreciate paying £ 10 pounds a day to park in hotel car park on top of room price.

Really lovely stay at the Angus. Room was spotless and very comfortable. Staff are all friendly, and attentive.
Spa was quite basic (pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi) but still lovely to be able to go for a swim. However, the area round the pool and spa needs some maintenance as there was plaster broken off walls, missing tiles and the roof has obviously had some kind of issue. Some nicer loungers round the pool would be good as it’s just plastic chairs and not very many. You have to take the towels from your room to use the spa, but you then need to get more from reception for the room. There wasn’t anyone on reception at night so we couldn’t actually get towels as the person who answered the bell didn’t have the key to get them. Perhaps just put extra towels in each room would be an easier and better solution for guests? Also, as guests provision of robes would be useful for the spa as the changing rooms are really small.
Plenty parking but don’t be fooled, it’s not free. You have to pay £10 per 24hrs via a QR code. There is a public car park just over the road apparently free up to 3 days, but by then you are already parked at the hotel.
Very central for the town and lovely walk along the river.
Overall a lovely wee break but some minor points to note.

Lovely hotel. Pool needs a bit of updating. Great food, n8ce rooms. Don't use hotel car park.
Park across the road for free! We had to pay £10 @ day before realising the car park across the road was free for 72 hours.

Great hotel, very central location. Lots of parking available and staff very friendly and helpful pointing out the free car park rather than the one thats cost money. Never ate here this time but the food looked and smelt lovely. Very clean room with everything you need for a short break. Beds super comfy.
