Stayed with family

This was easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I understand that AC is not always standard in Ireland, but there was not even a fan or any real way to ventilate the room, which was especially uncomfortable on a higher floor. The room itself felt poorly maintained. The listing said the room was not supposed to have a refrigerator, yet there was one in the room with the door wide open and clearly malfunctioning. If it did not work, why was it left there at all? The iron also barely got hot, making it useless. The location is horrible. There is practically nothing nearby, which leaves you stuck relying on the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, that was just as bad. We waited around 15 minutes just to place our order, then waited about an hour for the food to arrive. We were the only people in the restaurant at first, yet a large group that came in after us somehow received their food within about 15 minutes, long before we did. The service was unacceptable. Because the surrounding area is such a food desert, the restaurant being this bad made the stay even worse. The next night, we gave up and ordered delivery. We ultimately checked out a day early because staying there was not worth it. The only real positive is that you can walk to a nearby train station that, while sketchy, does at least function and can get you into central Dublin. That is about the only compliment I can give this hotel.

In the advertisement in expedia.com, the additional price of breakfast for a person was quoted as £22 which seemed to be somewhat too expensive, while the hotel itself offered a buffet breakfast for the additional price of Euros12.50 which however was raised to Euros16 during my brief stay at the hotel.

Great
Hotel is in historical building which is great but also has it downsides. Difficult to connect to wifi in our room particularly and that’s probably because of the grandness of the hotel but that marred our stay a bit.

Plenty of free parking. Bar was nice for a quick drink when waiting to go out. Upgraded to a suite with separate room, with kitchen and sofa. TVs in bedroom and sitting room

The staff was very kind and helpful and the hotel very clean. However the beds and pillows were not comfortable (same opinion for four adults travelling together in separate room), and the beds were poorly made, sheets all crumpled and uncomfortable to get into. The rooms were also very hot - but understandable since we were there during a heat wave, and the staff provided a fan for us. Not sure I’d recommend nor return though.
