Hotel was great, staff were great, restaurant was good, location was great. However the decision to renovate the hotel one floor at a time, month after month can be seen to be a major error by corporate management. Mon-Fri 9-5 the noise reverberating throughout everywhere in the hotel was highly likely to have exceeded UK health and safety limits, to the point of making rooms almost uninhabitable during this time period. Fortunately we were out of the hotel most of this time, but it would have been far better to close the hotel to renovate it all at once rather than a floor at a time over many months. The reputational damage could potentially be severe. Would I stay here again? Absolutely yes, but no one told us in advance of the hotel refurbished (Expedia). I would check with the hotel prior to see if refurbishment is complete, especially if you have infants or small kids.

Wonderful hotel, great staff, only real disappointing thing was the drilling and banging that started at precisely 9am both days. Pretty pointless having a late checkout when you cant even enjoy the peace and quiet.

Stayed with kids

Well situated just off the canal and a short (mostly pedestrianised) walk from shops, bars and restaurants and Paddington Station. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was incredibly quiet and dark and well air-conditioned. The attention to detail lets it down. Little things like how dirty it is under the beds, the lack of any hooks in the pool area, coffee mugs in the room that don’t fit in the Nespresso machine etc add up to undermine what could be a really classy choice minutes from the Heathrow Express and easy for all London has to offer.
