The location was fantastic- close to the train station, castle, beautiful squares, and dining locations steps from the hotel entrance. The hair dryer did not work and the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable but the mini split worked perfectly so the room temperature was cool and it was a pretty and large room. The breakfast was good.

The room was very clean and had very nice air conditioning. The gentlemen that worked the front desk were kind and helpful. The location was very good. The not so good....the young lady at the desk did not greet us upon arrival and seemed annoyed with us. She continued that kind of attitude throughout our stay. The computer system seems to be wonky. She told us we had breakfast and what time it was. We did not recall booking breakfast, so we asked her to check. Then she said, oh, you don't have breakfast. Glad we checked. Then we asked her about laundry, which is listed as an amenity on the website. We have been traveling for several weeks, so we booked this because laundry is listed. She said, we don't have that! Okay, why is it on your website. She had no idea. We asked a different guy and he checked for us. Turns out, it used to be offered and is no longer and has never been taken off the website (poor form!!!). The next few days, when she was working, she was very cold and unfriendly, unlike the gentlemen that worked the desk. The final nail in the coffin for us was when we were checking out, she says, you have to pay for breakfast and room tax. We said, we never had breakfast at the hotel but we are fine with paying the room tax. Her response, never mind. Honestly, she was the rudest person we have encountered in all our travel. It costs nothing to be kind!!!

To start off, the cleaning lady didn’t clean my room at all. No towel change, no sheet change, nothing. She also locked me out after she was done cleaning and I had to get a spare key. The receptionists where the most frustrating and unhelpful part of my stay. On the fourth night of my stay here, my family and I (as well as many other guests at the hotel) where woken up by a loud banging noise. The banging continued on and when I confronted the recpetionist about the noise, she claimed not to have heard anything. The recpetionists behavior was notibky very strange at this time, so possible intoxication and/or substance use is a possible scenario here. Further into the night, the banging noise only persisted and we had no other choice but to go and figure out what or who was causing the disturbance since the receptionist was of no help at all. The cause of the disturbance were guests of the hotel that got locked out of the hotel entirely due to the receptionist not opening the entry door for them. (At this point there was no staff around, including the receptionist). The front door was completely locked, giving no entry points to those going in and out of the hotel. Police had to be called, and eventually after 2 hours the recprionist was found asleep in one of the rooms.

Great

Solo stay

I stayed at the Royal Ricc on my first trip to Brno, and I would gladly return. It had plenty of old world vibe, and the location (right in the old town) could not have been better. The hotel was also well located for restaurants and sightseeing, and was close (about a 10 minute walk) to the train station. Brno is a really lovely city, and this hotel provided a really nice place to stay.

This was an amazing and interesting property, the picture panelled ceiling and stained glass corridors made for a special stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast very good. The room itself was clean and well maintained. The proximity of the hotel, close to the market square and lots of shops and restaurants added to the convenience. We arrived by train which is also a short walk away. Having been away nearly 4 weeks now, it’s always good to have chosen such a delightful place to stay. Highly recommended.

Good

Solo stay

The room looked clean on the surface but the bathroom shower gel gets refilled but not cleaned before or after use! Stick to using the brand new soap. On my visit, the wifi wasn't working so neither was the tv. It eventually worked but kept buffering. Better quality hotels are cheaper in the area. Only stayed a night

Lovely staff and location but the bed in our room was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever experienced in my life. The coils of the mattress could be felt digging into you as you tried to sleep. This combined with the noise from checkout meant I needed to find alternate accommodation and left early.
