GoodStayed with family
Our stay at The Owl Cave was just okay. We originally booked the Premier Room with 1 King Bed, but the humidity, lack of ventilation, and lack of windows made the stay unbearable. Unlike other cave hotels, this room had not been equipped with proper ventilation - we would not reccomend staying in this room.
Thankfully, the staff was extremely helpful and understanding. We were upgraded to another, much better ventilated room with great views of the city. If staying at the Owl Hotel, please make sure to go with the high-end rooms. Unfortunately, we had to check out early from the hotel and go to another one, because the upgraded room was reserved and we would have to go back to the original one.
Looking past that, the facility at the Owl Cave felt a bit run-down. The place could use lots of renovations and more thorough cleaning. The rooftop had amazing views of the city, but was improperly maintained. It rained for a couple of days during our stay, and all the furniture on the rooftop got wet and was unusable at night. The staff could take better precautions - like covering the chairs during rain - to make sure all areas of the hotel are usable.
By far the best part of the stay was the breakfast. It was delicious, and we ate like Kings! Sanitation was a concern for us, though. The staff serving breakfast had a very bad cold (and cough), but no masks or gloves were used to serve the food. Detracted from the experience a bit.

Below averageStayed with friends
I had very high hopes based on other reviews, but unfortunately did not have a good experience. We booked the "Superior Room, King", and while this is the room we got, the room does not have a King Bed in it - it has a queen bed that sits on top of a king box spring, meaning it takes up the space without providing the comfort in an already small room. We complained and asked to receive a room with a king bed, to which reception told us that there were no other rooms available (fully booked) and that he was pretty sure all their rooms say they have king beds, regardless of what is actually in them. Our room was also very hot and humid, despite cooler weather, which honestly I didn't expect given it's a cave. It had no windows to open (which is not entirely unexpected given it's a cave, though other cave rooms both in this hotel and in other cave hotels do have windows) AND no AC unit. We only had a floor fan. It was so uncomfortably hot that we ended up keeping our bedroom door ajar to the hallway often to try to let in some cooler, fresher air. The water never got past lukewarm in our bathroom and the water pressure in the shower was terrible. We ended up changing hotels for our last night and eating the extra cost as we couldn't stand it for another night. I would recommend looking elsewhere. Their breakfast is fantastic though and their rooftop patio has a good view of the hot air balloons, though it isn't very set up for photos.

Great staff and breakfast service. Rooms are nice, just not the most functional at times.

Staff was very friendly and the room more spacious than anticipated. But it was the breakfast that made Owl Cave a must stay, what a treat!

I had a pleasant stay at Owl Cave Hotel and really enjoyed how peaceful and quiet the environment was. The staff were generally warm and helpful, and the location worked perfectly for all my tours pickup and drop-off were smooth and convenient every single day. My room was beautifully lit, surprisingly spacious, and perfect for taking photos. Breakfast was also lovely and freshly made every morning, which I appreciated. There were a few things that could be improved, such as room heating and cleaning consistency, and I think the hotel would benefit from cleaner pet management. But overall, the stay was comfortable, the ambience was serene, and Cappadocia felt magical from here. Special shout out to the beautiful female receptionist.

Room was a little damp as expected for a cave hotel but clean. The staff was excellent, very attentive, thoughtful, and spoke good English. We had to leave for the airport early (before their breakfast time) but the staff went out of their way to prepare sandwiches for us.
