Would be wonderful if the bar/restaurant would be open later when there are concerts in the park. Missed opportunity. Besides that, beautiful location, rooms are well appointed and clean. Staff always accommodating and professional.

The bathroom was in need of an upgrade. There was mold in the shower area and in general was not as clean as it should be. There was peeling pain on the ceiling in the main room. For $950 per night the room should have been in much better condition.

Great location. Nice historic hotel, but very worn down. Ceiling in bathroom patched too many times. Resturant was small, load & limited menu.

Close to SPAC is the only positive. Property saw its good days long, long ago.

Stunning park. Great for bikers and golfers. Convenient shuttle to town. Totally worth the stay. Breakfast patio is beautiful, but food is average

The Gideon Putnam is a wonderfully historic hotel but there was a lot of confusion at the front desk with my reservation. It was finally settled but we had to change rooms and then our keys didn’t work. Eventually though it was settled. Also, the shower needs at least one grab bar in it. We had to climb into a tub and the floor and walls were slippery. I was very afraid of falling

Our room was pretty ridiculous. I was appalled when I walked in. Firstly, the damp, dank, college dorm room odor was so pungent it actually kept me up most of the night. It smelled awful. We had no view out of our window. It was such a depressing space. Our room not only smelled badly, but also felt claustrophobic. There was no charming decor or furniture. Nothing inviting or appealing. Granted we were there for the easy and convenient access to the concert at SPAC- but for the price we paid, I expected a much nicer room- and one that didn’t smell gross. The mattress was comfortable, but that didn’t matter much as I couldn’t sleep from the awful stench. The AC was much appreciated with the oppressive heat we had. I felt a bit bamboozled for the room we got. Not only that we spent an extra $50 to check in at 2:00. Had I known what the room going to be like; I would have saved the extra $50. As it was I already overpaid for the room. So disappointing.

Wonderful place to stay, especially if you're attending a concert at SPAC. There's also a shuttle to downtown Saratoga and the race track, which is a huge plus. I also highly recommend visiting the Roosevelt Baths & Spa while you're there.
