The hotel is situated on Miaotang Lane, Gusu District, Suzhou, adjacent to numerous scenic spots and historic cultural attractions. The surrounding area is dotted with time-honored gardens and relics, including the Humble Administrator’s Garden, the Master of the Nets Garden, the Suzhou Museum and the Lingering Garden that embody the aesthetic essence of Suzhou-style classical gardens. Natural scenic destinations such as Tiger Hill, Jinji Lake Scenic Area, Taihu Lake Tourism Resort and Tongli Water Town are also within easy reach. The hotel commissioned master architect Liu Yichun to oversee its overall design, while the interior soft furnishing design was undertaken by Xie Ke and Zhi Hongxin, founder and design director of the renowned domestic design firm Shang Yiyang Design. Drawing on elements of classical garden craftsmanship and the lingering charm of Jiangnan, they created a serene garden retreat embodying the concept of "unrestrained leisure". The hotel complex is divided into an Eastern and a Western Zone based on its original layout. The Eastern Zone houses guest rooms separated only by a wall from the historic Chang Garden, and the Western Zone consists of a well-preserved Suzhou-style garden dating back to the Qing Dynasty. Blending elaborate fine craftsmanship with freehand artistic conception, the hotel retains and reinforces the original wooden and brick-concrete structural frameworks of its guest buildings.
