I was surprised to receive accommodation that was clean and very accessible to everything. It was completely opposite to what other people say about Chungking Mansions. We stayed at the Kyoto Guesthouse and I was truly amazed by how large the room was. It was a family room and impeccably clean. I even received my requested city view room. Although the comfort room was not particularly big, it was just right for its price. Regarding the atmosphere, the staff was very friendly.

the staffs are pinay. ang bait ni maam sa reception sa 7th floor. cancelled yung flight namin due to typhoon and we asked if we can extend and move to a bigger room, pumayag sya and nilipat nya kami sa room na kitang kita ang city view. ang lapit nya sa lahat. MTR, food stores & resto, sa museum, harbor and everything. tatawid ka lang, mtr na agad.

This place is not amazing, but it’s not bad either. I would still recommend it if you’re traveling with friends, especially if they are not too picky. However, I would not recommend it for families with kids. The staff were very nice and helpful, and it was a plus that some of them were Pinay, which made communication easier. The room had useful amenities such as hot and cold water, a refrigerator, microwave, towels, and an water heater. The bed was not hotel-standard, but it was still big, comfortable, and good enough for sleeping well. The blanket was a comforter, which made it cozy. One downside was that there were small cockroaches in the room on the 15th floor, so we had to buy our own spray because they didn’t have any available at that time. Despite that, the place was overall clean, especially the room on the 7th floor, which was much better.

We were initially hesitant due to the many negative reviews surrounding Chungking Mansions, but Kyoto Guest House proved them all wrong. The service here is exceptional. Despite our 12:30 AM arrival, someone was waiting to assist us with our luggage and the check-in process. The staff was incredibly considerate, even letting us settle into our room before finishing the paperwork because they could see we were exhausted. The room offered a great view of the city lights and the location is perfect—close to the MTR and everything you need. I would definitely book this again!

You get what you pay for. The price for such a central location in TST with access to all nearby transportation options like the MTR, bus and taxis. A lot of nearby affordable food places walking distance to the avenue of stars, K11 and victoria harbour. The room is small as expected of most units in Chunking mansion but the room is clean, comfortable bed and CR. The building itself is a little older so the elevator takes time especially during rush hour. would reco for those on a budget looking for affordable place to stay in.
