Pros: Great location. Easy to get to with lots of shops and restaurants around. Modern and clean throughout. Nice rooftop bar area. A locked luggage storage area was available when I arrived early.
Cons: On check-in I was told I had been downgraded due to overbooking and all other rooms of my type were taken (despite this being only 30 minutes after the listed check-in time, and the fact that I'd already been to the hotel 3 hours earlier to drop off my bags). No refund was offered. The proposed solution (free breakfast for 2 days, then move me to the room I paid for) would've actually increased my costs as it meant being without the kitchen that I'd booked the room for to save on meal costs. I did eventually get checked into an upgraded room at no extra cost, but only after standing my ground for 10 minutes. One staff member seemed genuinely apologetic, the other seemed annoyed that I wouldn't go away.
Also, while my wife and I waited for a lift, the same staff member from check-in led a large group in front of us and filled it despite us being there first. No apology was made or even a "they have a work event, do you mind?". I was made to feel second class again.
The "fully equipped" kitchen only had one pan provided - hardly useful for preparing meals.
The curtains let light into the room right where your head is so you get woken up early.
The luggage storage area was wide open on departure. People were going in and out with no checks done to ensure bags were safe.

The hotel is amazing, the rooms are massive, like an apartment, including kitchen etc. they have a lot of services such us Gym, Laundry and a rooftop bar but I didn’t use any so I can not give my opining on that.
The only thing I didn’t like is that they don’t have daily cleaning service like in pretty much all the hotels, at least should be every other day, but during my whole stay, nobody came to take even the trash from the bathroom. That’s supposed to be included in the price.

The Citadines Danube has spacious and well-decorated rooms, and it's only two stops from the VIC (conference centre), and on a direct metro line into the centre. Citadines is basically an apart-hotel, so there's also a kitchenette. Three things: the studio and executive studio are basically the same except that executive studio is on a higher floor, has a coffee machine, and costs more. Second, the hotel only cleans room once a week. You want it cleaned more than that, you pay about 25 euros, which I think is ludicrous as the trash def needs to be taken out more than once a week if you're using the kitchenette. Third, reception could not be less interested in guests coming in. They weren't unfriendly, just very disinterested. Maybe that's because there are a lot of flight crews in the hotel and so they are used to people coming in for a night or for very short days. So, if you're coming in for a conference and hotels closer to the VIC are full, and you're happy to have a very anonymous experience, this hotel is fine. If you want a friendlier hotel with more amenities, I'd choose elsewhere.
