Things to do in Nairobi

What to expect in Nairobi

This catalogue is led by guided Tours, so most options here are organised excursions and sightseeing experiences that suit curious travellers and first-time visitors. Booking activity peaks in August and tapers to its quietest in July, which means you’ll usually find more availability and a calmer pace in July compared with August. Overall, the selection is focused and easy to scan when planning your time in the city.

How to choose what to book

Your main choice is whether to pick a simple, entry-level outing or a more extensive guided experience — typical price around PHP 3,508 helps set expectations. Tours offer the widest range: entry-level options typically run around PHP 3,330 while upper-end choices reach about PHP 10,704, so you can trade comfort and extras for a higher price.

If you’re filling gaps in an itinerary the most affordable way in is the Tours category, which is also the city’s single dominant category and therefore easy to slot into plans. For travellers wanting mid-range options where inclusions vary, Tours again covers that spectrum here, so compare specific itineraries rather than categories.

When travellers from the Philippines book

Most travellers book at short notice, with bookings typically made around 2 days ahead, while the earliest planners book about 4 days ahead. This means plan on booking within the week of travel rather than months in advance, and allow a little extra cushion for visits during August when demand is higher.

How prices compare

The table below shows how the city’s top activity categories compare on price so you can place a budget before choosing.

Typical price is the median paid on Klook; the usual range covers the middle half of bookings, so cheaper and pricier options exist outside it; prices are shown with their currency code. Based on Klook booking data, August 2025 – July 2026.
