The hike up took about 30-45mins. Our guide and driver were accommodating and friendly. They made sure we had water and even helped us take photos along the way. The guide helped us hike through the difficult parts of the route and we ended up on the peak with 1 hour to spare. Although it was a bit misty that day, we were lucky that the mist disappeared when the sun was about to rise. From our point, we get to see Mt Agung, Batur, the lake and the sea. It was one of our highlights of Bali. Our driver even took the time to explain to us the different type of plantations at the nearby village during our drive back and let us try the tomatoes that were grown there. Do try this when you’re in Bali!

Best thing to do in Bali! Totally worth it. Our driver (Edy) is punctual and very friendly. Our guide (Kadek) is simply awesome! He is helpful and very friendly. He's also very chatty throughout the trekking, which makes it more engaging and enjoyable. He took many pretty photos for us! Sunrise views and Batur lake is very stunning. Both guides speaks very good English. 10/10 for everything!

Great experience. An early morning, but totally worth it. We were contacted by our driver, Agus, the night before to arrange the pickup time and he was exactly on time. Agus was friendly and helpful. This tour seems much less popular than the regular Mount Batur hike so there were no crowds, maybe 10 or 20 people at the top. We didn't see anyone until we got up there and had the trail to ourselves. The trail is not well traveled and has a natural feel to it, but it can be a bit tricky at times. I recommend wearing good shoes and taking water breaks. The boat ride each way felt like a different world than the tourist Bali, just some people getting a lift from a local villager across a lake in the middle of nowhere. The breakfast at the top was great, provided by some locals that delivered it from their village. Don't go if you are expecting a 5 start meal. It is simple and down to earth. The view from the top of both Mount Batur and Mount Agung were spectacular during the sunrise. The top of Mount Batur was in the clouds during the sunrise so the crowds over there had to stop midway to watch. We had a great 360 view from our perch the entire time. Our guide, whose name I unfortunately could not pronounce correctly or write down, was also great and helpful. He helped us where we needed it and stopped me from falling over the edge of a cliff when I fell on the way down (be very careful). He also retrieved my glasses that did actually fall over the edge (it was that close). All on all it was a great experience away from the crowds to a seemingly remote part of the island.

🚨🚨Highly recommended! Especially with these guys (Komang and Kadek). They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable even at 2:30am. The whole trip was made better and fun because of them. The trek was not too hard. Our guide (another Kadek) was very caring and he puts our safety first. He explained the history and culture of several Bali mountains very well. Impressed with his knowledge. Will definitely do this again.
