Otway, Australia is the only place in the world where you can experience this 1.9 kilometer steel walkway canopy! Though you'll be walking 30 meters above the ground, you don't need to worry about your safety as this steel walkway is designed to withstand strong wind speeds up to 280 kilometers per hour! The walk takes an average of one hour to explore - be sure to keep an eye out for native wildlife when you're up there!
really well designed attraction that is educational and creates awareness for the rainforest ecosystem. Love how the whole journey takes one through all 4 stratas of the rainforest. The cantilever was also a nice experience.
i found it amazing how the rainforest was found amidst lush rolling hills.
highly recommend for an hour's time to reconnect with nature.
Wide green forest and nice treetop walk amidst the green nature. Climb to the top of the tower to have 360 view of the forest and “walk the plank” on the cantilever platform. Suitable for kids and seniors with buggy ride available from the park rangers. Lovely lunch at cafe and souvenirs to bring home. Wonderful place for the whole family. Plus it’s nearby to Erskine’s falls! Totally fell in love with the location!
Our visit was marred by wet weather. However, the majestic rainforest was lush and green. Steel structure was impressive. We were mesmerised by the tall trees swaying in the high wind. Canopy walk was so intriguing that we could peep in to the un-common. We could see the fresh growth in the trees. Moss and other parasitic species growing in high branches so they could get exposure to sunlight. We’ve seen so many species of birds too.
What’s concerning though, rust from the steel structure is spoiling the undergrowth including the tall ferns. I think management of Otway fly must do something to preserve this wonderful piece of paradise for the future generations.
Also what I noticed, visitor centre looks old & tired.
Redemption for tickets was easy. Definitely worth the money buying the tickets from klook instead of at getting them directly over the counter. It rained a little during the walk but there were shelters along the way at the walkway. An easy 1hr+ walk among the canopy. Really great experience. Carpark was about a 300m walk to the visitor centre.
It was a nice walk around the place and climbing to such height can be scary. There is a section where the front and sides are glass panels and you are able to better view the treetop from above. But that section is pretty scary as there is no support beam beneath it and the path is quite shaky when people walked on it.
we had a long walk in the morning. it was very cold but worth all the efforts. the view was beautiful and it was a very interesting experience. we climbed all the way to the top and walked to the end of hanging boardwalk. it was shaky but it felt very safe. we was in awe watching all the unique plants around us. it was quite tiring but we enjoyed it very much. remember to bring water to drink along the way. we love walking around the area. it was a long and quite journey to reach the area with no/minimal phone coverage. be sure to have gps or it would be hard to find the location.
