Relive your childhood with a visit to one of the most interesting and unique museums in Penang! Step into the TeddyVille Museum and get ready to be greeted by Malaysia's first and largest collection of Teddy Bears from various nations and eras - dating as far back as the 1900's. See various displays of teddy bears in all shapes and sizes from miniature bears to ones as tall as a human person! Not only will you be surrounded by an endless cuteness of fluffy furriness in this museum, but you'll also get to learn about the cultural history of Penang - as told by miniature bears - and of course, the origins and evolution of the classic teddy bear. As a bonus to this trip, you also have the option to build your own bear to take home as a memorable souvenir!
Explore one of the most original museums in the world while traveling in Penang — the fascinating Wonderfood Museum featuring giant displays of traditional Malaysian dishes. Located inside Georgetown’s 1940s colonial building, the museum invites you into the world of super realistic models of popular dishes handcrafted by the museum’s owner using food replication techniques from Japan. There are three galleries in the museum for your to discover: Info Zone, Wow Zone, and Educational Zone where you can learn interesting facts about Malaysian cuisine, cooking methods and see international delicacies from Indian, Chinese and other cuisines.
Step into the fantastic Glass Museum Penang, the first ever museum of glass in Malaysia and home to the longest batik motif glass painting - both feats certified under the Malaysian Book of Records. As you enter, you'll be greeted by the Avenue of Stars, a long corridor surrounded by geometrical mirrors that seemingly takes you to a world of endless reflections and spaces. Continue through the museum and observe the skillfully made decorations made from recycled glass pieces plus other artworks displayed all around. Don't miss the chance to take creative shots in the kaleidoscope-like mirrors and the fluorescent "forest" that gives the illusion of a beautifully lit landscape. Take part in an immersive glass crafting class and take home your very own creation! Perfect for art lovers and appreciators, the Glass Museum Penang is a must for your itinerary.
While most museums don't allow their visitors to take pictures, it's a different story at the Penang 3D Trick Art Museum. Visitors are encouraged to interact and have fun with the art pieces, and take as many photos as they want. Not like other museums, this art museum is an interactive attraction that embraces the old and the new by mixing art that features traditional Malaysian settings and what is considered to be present-day hip culture. Enjoy a day of fun with your family and friends where you get to live the lampung lifestyle by posing in front of a traditional Malaysian house, or perhaps pretend to boat and fish along the river, or pose as if you're doing extreme sports! It's the best activity to unleash your creative and fun side.
The museum is a little further from George Town but was very unique and fun! There was not many people when we were touring the museum and we could snap many photos with the adorable teddy bears on our own. The museum also used the teddy bears to illustrate Penang's heritage and history, which put a fun twist to history-telling that's suitable for people of all ages. On the whole, we had lots of fun and enjoyed the museum!

It was an enjoyable experience for us (young and old alike). I visited Wonderfood Museum with my 2 kids and mom. This place is a fine depiction of Penang and Malaysian culinary delights..... Super-sized! Staffs are ever willing to guide and help take pictures. Thanks for the great 2 hrs that we spent there.
I went with my family, and even my elderly mum enjoyed this experience!
The giant bears were charming, as were the small ones which were in the different displays. The write-ups accompanying each display and set-up were well-written, and provided non-locals with a better understanding of Penang history and daily life.
The bears were very, very cute!
Love this food museum. Interesting and the food looks real. They have pics of recommendations what’s the best food around Penang. Go on your first day of trip. Try all of them. The food in Penang is really nice! And the photo taking there were awesome. Great staff to initiate and help us with our pics. All well taken
Wonderfood museum in Penang is all about the famous foods of Penang that are the signature of this state. The foods look so real and I wondered how the creator of this museum managed to do that. If come to Penang and do not know what to eat, give this museum a visit and you will have a list of food to eat in Penang.
