Enjoy the trip, the beer tasting and the food.
Richard the tour guide is very friendly and jovial, his sharing of the different eateries in Singapore is interesting, he did his homework!
I like the beer they developed for our National Day, I think it’s called Better Together. You must order it for dinner. Food portion is not big but with the beer, it’s enough to fill your stomach. Personally I prefer their porridge over the rice.
Tour Guide (Corliss) was attentive and provided interesting information during our journey.
The Brewery itself wasn't fanciful as it was a small scale business but it had all the necessary equipment needed to make great tasting beer!
The history of the beers, how they were made were all explained clearly by the staff at 1925, we managed to try 2 of their core beers during our stay at the brewery and purchased some of the other beers home as well!
Corliss wasn't able to join us at the Eatery due to Covid Restriction but she made sure we felt safe and comfortable by giving us directions on how to return home from Joo Chiat for those who lived further away from this part of Singapore.
The Teochew dishes provided was fantastic, especially the Teochew braised duck, so tender and soft!
Each of the tour participants were given 2 half pints of beer as well so we managed to try most of their core beers and was overall satisfied/full by the end of the tour.
Hopefully people can show more interest in craft-beer and help our local craft beer community grow and expand!
Tour guide was punctual and responsive. She tried to share with us interesting things about Singapore during our journey to the brewery and restaurant. The brewery tour was also insightful and most importantly the beers we tried were really tasty. Bought 12 bottles to support them. Food was also delicious with 1 pint of beer included. U can also split into 2 half pints to try 2 different beers. The restaurant was a bit warm and stuffy though.. but overall still worth it as we can use the Rediscover Sg voucher to claim fully.
My only impression is that of the big Asia brewery company, didn’t know there are small or so called microbrewery setup in Singapore and in fact it has grown to about 15 of them .1925 brewery is one of them, the driver of the business comes the passion of the family members wanting to get family together with good beers coupled with good Teochew cuisine.
It is quite educational to visit their brewery premises and understand how beers are brewed and flavoured. Interestingly on that day, they had “Mao San Wang” beer already brewed and we get to try it. If are durian lover you will love it. Their Teochew cuisine restaurant is located at Joo Chiat Road , the Sa Cha fried rice and the duck breast are great.
Our tour guide is a great joker, very cheerful and responsible . He ensures we are well fed at the restaurant before he left us alone. Too bad , the restaurant never give him food to eat😜.
Overall, it is quite a pleasant experience..
I am not aware Singapore has her own local microbrewery and as such, the tour is informative and interesting. It’s gratifying to see a local family entrepreneurs pursuing their aspirations with such passion. Kudos to the tour guide too for his attention and making the tour and dinner thereafter very delightful and entertaining!
Excellent experience all around. Our tour guide Richard was a funny chap, lots of stories and good recommendations. Then at the 1925 brewery we learned lots about the story behind the founding of the brewery, love that it’s a family affair and that all the names of the core beers tie back to the founders grandfather. The beer was also excellent. My favourite was the Liang Teh, but the Tiramisu Stout was also very special. Then we were brought to the restaurant which had great decor and excellent food. The sacha fried rice was fragrant and the braised duck breast was flavourful and tender. I can only highly recommend this tour.
