Old Shanghai Half Day Bike Tour

5.0 2 reviews | 100+ Booked
You might think Shanghai is all about futuristic, avant-garde buildings in Pudong and old art deco buildings on the Bund. But there are enclaves where you can still feel the city's olden times, with its Chinese traditional buildings, gardens, and typical Chinese eateries—and this bike tour will take you through it all. Your first stop is the Former French Concession, where you'll bike through narrow lanes and discover beautiful villas from the 1920s. See shikumen housing in its most authentic state at Cité Bourgogne, too, and pass by the Zhou Enlai Residence. Some other attractions you'll visit are Tianzifang (Taikang Road), the antique markets on Dongtai Road, and Shanghai Old Street. This tour is for you if you prefer to explore the city on an off the beaten track, far from the tourist crowd.

Guide was punctual, friendly and flexible. Recommended if you have limited time in Shanghai and would like to see city sights without the hassle of public commute. Note that google can't give instructions using the subway (even if you have VPN) and most taxi drivers can't read (even if address is in chinese characters).

Céline was our tour guide and she very knowledgeable. She was great at explaining the history of Shanghai for both, my 8 years old daughter and myself. Her English was clear. The tour covered all tourist points -- Old Shanghai, French Concession, Yu Garden, the Bund, a small local food market, and lastly to the Tian Zi Fang bazaar. I believe the last two were extra venues. 😊 I would recommend Céline as a tour guide and the half-day tour to future families with kids.

Lily was the best part of the tour ! I felt like she was an old friend taking us to her favorite Shanghai places. She shared stories of her child hood and just was an encyclopedia of facts. They were timely and the car was clean and the driver friendly. I will be booking additional tours in the future. I wanted more time!

Our tour guide was friendly. The tour was beautiful. My feedback was for the French Concession tour the time given was 20 minutes only. We’ve pee at the starbucks. We haven’t enjoyed the French Concession tour because the time given was so short and enough. May extend it to 30 minutes. But over all experienced was excellent. The english speaking tour guide was excellent. The car that we used was also nice very big to accomodate big groups like us. 6 Adult + 1 toddler. No need to fold the stroller. Because the car was spacious. It is more convenient and you save a lot of money when booking here at Klook. Thank you for this beautiful Tour Package. Until our next trip.

we arrived late for our tour as we were joining it from another tour earlier in the day. our tour guide Lily was lovely and changed our itinerary on the spot to show us the places that we hadn’t already seen. Both Lily and the driver took great care of us and Lily had perfect English and shared her great knowledge of her city. She even took us on the subway to meet up with our other tour group again even though it would’ve added about an hour and a half to her working day. I recommend this tour 100%

We loved the tourguide Lily. She knows a lot about history and background information of shanghainese culture. We went to the yuyu garden and tried the famous crabsoup dumpling. Also the contrast between west and east was very nice to experience in the chique french concession and the Bund. Hope to see you again Lily!
