I’d say this is the best route to take to visit cu chi tunnels as the speedboat rides to and fro from Ho Chi Minh is only 110minutes. Our guide Tony is also hilarious and very knowledgeable. There were also breakfast consisting of bananas, mandarins, Vietnamese coffee and a very humble ban mi served on board for those who missed breakfast due to the early pickup. The tour ends with a delicious local Vietnamese lunch at cu chi, and dragon fruits and bananas served on board on the way back to Ho Chi Minh. Overall I enjoyed myself totally for this half day tour. Thumbs up! 👍🏻
Wonderful experience. Our guide fetched us at our hotel at 7 am for a 10-minute ride to the pier where we transferred to a speedboat together with other tourists (a family of five and a couple). They prepared fruits, Banh Mi and iced coffee for us as well as gave us glass water bottles as souvenir.
We arrived at Cu Chi after 1.15 hours and since we were early, we avoided the throngs of tourists that visit the place.
We had a lovely lunch at the restaurant near the river where we were served soup, chicken, fish, vegetables, pork rolls and a can of coconut water
soda. We also tasted some boiled cassava, the staple food of the Vietcong when they were in hiding.
We love the Cu Chi experience which was further heightened by the fact that we were a small intimate group and that our guide was very patient and attentive.
Traveling by speed boat was also something I recommend to those who want to breathe fresh air and enjoy the beauty of nature.
We were back at our hotel before 1 pm.
Awesome experience. We were picked up on time from our hotel. Our tour guide Kha spoke great English. The boat got us to the tunnels without traffic. Kha was able to give us background at each of the locations on the tour. By taking the boat we were able to avoid the crowds that came in on tour buses in the late morning.
