GANH SHOW: SAIGON STORIES TOLD THROUGH DANCE & LIVE PERFORMANCE ART

If you are looking for a reason to love Saigon more, If you are searching for something to better understand this land… Let "Gánh" lead the way.

This is an immersive journey where you don't just hear, but see; don't just watch, but touch. Through 75 minutes of wandering through memories, you will accompany artists through sun and rain, through the burdens of the "Gánh" (carrying poles), and moments of pure fulfillment. The creaking sound of the musical "Gánh"—a live fusion of traditional instruments and EDM—combined with sophisticated movement art, will tell you the story of a truly gentle Saigon.

Let your heart be moved by the humble image of the carrying pole, which holds an entire sky of memories. Come to rediscover a familiar Saigon that you might have misplaced on your journey to adulthood. Come to understand a Saigon that wears the glamorous exterior of a modern metropolis, yet hides deep emotions and rich cultural values within.

WHAT TO EXPERIENCE AT GÁNH SHOW?

At Gánh Show, every moment on stage is a delicate dialogue between tradition and modernity, woven from top-tier artistic materials.

A Multi-layered Symphony of Tones: The musical space is led by talented musicians, where traditional instruments such as the Dan Tranh (Zither), Dan Tu (Moon Lute), Bamboo Flute, and Guitar Phim Lom (Scalloped Fretboard Guitar) blend with percussion and electronic music. This unique combination creates a flow of sound that both echoes the ancient soul and beats with the intense rhythm of urban life.

Limitless Body Language: The story is told through an unexpected resonance of various dance forms. You will see the grace of Southern Vietnamese folk dance and Ballet, the narrative freedom of Contemporary dance, and the explosive, unconventional movements of Street Dance.

The Symbol of "Gánh" and the Philosophy of Movement: Throughout the 75-minute journey is the image of the carrying pole (quang gánh)—a treasure of migrants, a rhythm of arduous livelihoods yet shimmering with human kindness and aspirations for the future: Balancing in the flow of life, Opposites within the soul, Sustaining human fates, and Connecting kindred spirits.
