About the event
Hailed as a sensation across Europe and in America, Elim Chan has been described as “a rare example of a young conductor at once brilliant and not in the least showing off” (The Sunday Times). This season, the Hong Kong conductor returns to lead Prokofiev’s Fifth Symphony and an exciting world premiere commissioned by the HK Phil under its Composers Scheme. Canadian violin superstar James Ehnes, named Artist of Year by Gramophone magazine in 2021, joins for Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto.
