About the event

The Singapore Chamber Music Festival is where music lovers students of music and top chamber musicians come together to Connect, Share, and Celebrate the joys of chamber music.

Choose from four fabulous chamber concerts, a chamber demonstration workshop, and 2 days of coaching sessions with over 25 chamber groups from Singapore, Malaysia, and the USA.

SCMF 2024 is organised by Resound Collective, in partnership with the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music.

About the Festival

Just as the inaugural festivals in 2003 and 2005 brought together international and local artists, such as the Boston Brass, Australian String Quartet, and T’ang Quartet to perform and share their skills and experience in workshops and masterclasses, SCMF 2024 will feature top musicians from the USA, UK, Japan, and Singapore.

To be held biennially, the festival seeks to be an inclusive meeting place, where renowned local and international chamber musicians and keen amateurs can connect share in the camaraderie of chamber music, and celebrate great music performed at its highest level.

Among the festival artists in 2024 are Singapore-born USA-based violinist, Jonathan Ong, leader of the award-winning Verona Quartet - the quartet-in-residence at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio USA; Aoi Trio from Japan, winner of the piano trio prize at the prestigious ARD International Music Competition in Germany; UK-based Singapore pianist, Toh Chee Hung; and Singaporean string quartet, the Concordia Quartet.

An important part of the festival will be the Chamber Music Academy, where amateur musicians of all ages and abilities will perform and get coaching from the festival faculty. These coaching sessions will be open for public observation.
