As part of this year's semi-staged double bill, the Singapore Lyric Opera presents the perfect pairing of opera tragedies: Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana and Leoncavallo's Pagliacci (also known as Cav & Pag).
Cav tells a story of love, betrayal, and revenge in Sicily, while Pag narrates a dramatic tale of infidelity, jealousy, and revenge. The themes of love triangles, domestic violence, adultery, and murder are intensely portrayed in these operas, and they also appear in contemporary news headlines.
Do not miss the perfect opera pair! Enjoy Mascagni's & Leoncavallo's stunning works, including "Easter Hymn," "Intermezzo," and "Vesti la giubba." The semi-staged opera will be sung in Italian, with English spoken dialogue, and accompanied by English & Chinese surtitles.
The Singapore Lyric Opera, established in 1991, aims to engage Singaporeans in the appreciation and presentation of opera through nurturing and promoting the joyful art of singing.

The Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO) is the flagship company of western opera in Singapore. As the longest established in this sector of the arts, we engage renowned international and local performers and musicians under our repertoire. We aim to promote and present Western operas and concerts not frequently performed in Asia-Pacific for communities from all walks of life in Singapore.
