While traces of asbestos were found in construction debris on the island in April 2018, the debris has since been removed. It's always wise to stay updated on any health advisories before your visit.

Make sure to pack essentials like sunscreen, insect repellent, and plenty of water. Comfortable walking shoes are also recommended if you plan to explore the island's natural habitats.

For a more peaceful experience, plan your visit on weekdays. The island tends to get busier on weekends and public holidays.

The only way to reach St John's Island is by ferry from Marina South Pier. Two ferry companies offer multiple crossings daily, making it convenient to plan your trip.

Bring plenty of water, snacks, and sun protection, as the island has limited shade and no food outlets. Be prepared for a day in the sun.

Arrive early to secure your ferry seats, especially if you're visiting on weekends or public holidays when the island can get crowded.

Ferries to St John's Island depart from Marina South Pier. Note that the ferry does not return to St John’s Island from Kusu Island, so plan your trip accordingly.
