The Hop-on Hop-off shuttle service is great, allowing you to choose your departure and return times according to your needs. If you were to go to Keukenhof on your own without driving, it would be quite troublesome, but the shuttle is very convenient. It departs from Amsterdam Central after taking a free ferry to "This is Holland," where you can register and be accommodated. The gardens are well worth a visit; they are so large that they resemble a theme park, with all kinds of tulips and a flower market where you can buy flowers and seeds. The park staff is very dedicated and replaces the tulips regularly (they replace the withered flowers with trays of fresh tulips in their original soil). If you want to take pictures, allow about 4-6 hours. There are also exhibitions to see inside. Two other points are worth mentioning: 1) The tulip blooming period is mainly divided into 3 phases. The type of tulips you see will depend on when you go, details can be found on the official website; 2) If you want to buy seeds/potted plants as souvenirs, remember to check the local entry requirements carefully. For example, in Hong Kong, if you want to bring seeds/potted plants that are not native there, you should declare them, and the procedures are a bit complicated 🫢. You can find more details on the customs website.
