Rent a car in Denver
Explore Denver at Your Leisure
Renting a car in Denver opens up a world of possibilities for your travel itinerary. With your own set of wheels, you can easily drive to iconic destinations such as the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, located just around 15 miles from downtown Denver, or take a scenic trip to the Rocky Mountain National Park, which is about a 70-mile drive. Having a car rental at your disposal allows you to discover these attractions and more on your own schedule, without the constraints of public transportation.
Inspect Your Rental Car
Before you hit the road, take the time to thoroughly inspect the rental car for any pre-existing damage. Document any scratches, dents, or other imperfections and report them to the rental agency to prevent any misunderstandings when you return the vehicle. It's advisable to take pictures or even a video as proof. Familiarize yourself with the rental agreement, including the policies on mileage, fuel, insurance, additional fees, and driving area restrictions. Remember that most companies require the car to be returned with a full tank of gas, so refuel before you return to avoid extra charges.
Child Safety Measures
In Denver, as in the rest of Colorado, child passenger safety laws dictate that children under the age of eight must be properly secured in a child restraint system. When renting a car, ensure that you request the appropriate car seats for your children. Although most rental agencies offer car seats, availability may vary, so it's best to confirm in advance. Using a car rental without the proper child safety seats can result in fines and put your children at risk.
Avoiding Traffic Congestion
Denver, like any major city, can experience traffic congestion, particularly during rush hours. To avoid getting stuck, try to plan your travel outside of peak times, typically from 7 am to 9 am and from 4 pm to 6 pm on weekdays. When navigating the city, be mindful of the one-way streets and bike lanes that are prevalent in the downtown area.
Navigating with Ease
While Denver's streets may not be as complex as those of a megacity, having a GPS navigation system can still be a huge advantage, especially if you're unfamiliar with the area. Most rental cars come equipped with navigation to assist you in finding your destinations efficiently. This can be particularly helpful when visiting places like the Denver Botanic Gardens or the historic town of Golden, which are both easily accessible by car.
Convenient Airport Car Rentals
Denver International Airport offers a variety of car rental options. You'll find numerous rental agencies located at the airport's rental car center, which is accessible via a free shuttle service from the main terminal. Companies such as Enterprise, Budget, and Avis are among the choices available, providing a range of vehicles to suit your preferences and needs.
Driving in Denver
When driving in Denver, it's important to remember that you'll be sharing the road with cyclists and pedestrians, so always be vigilant, especially in residential and urban areas. Observe all traffic laws, including speed limits and stop signs, and never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In winter, be prepared for snowy and icy conditions, and consider renting a vehicle with four-wheel drive for better traction and safety.

Fantastic Rogue Nissan 13 day
everything was pretty straightforward. I brought the required documents. minimal wait in line. did not receive a rogue, however I did receive a Ford escape with heated seats and steering wheel. I was in Colorado so that was a nice option.

You can get around the Rocky Mountains in a regular sedan; don't be pressured to upgrade to an SUV.
