How can I prevent the spread of COVID-19?
    WHO covid-19
WHO (World Health Organization) recommends these 5 basic preventive measures to follow:
    1. Wash your hands frequently - Always thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based solution or wash them well with soap and water. Doing these may kill viruses that may be on your hands.
    2. Observe social distancing - Maintain at least 1 metre or 3 feet distance between yourself and anyone, especially if they’re coughing or sneezing. Small liquid droplets may contain the virus so if you’re too close, you may risk breathing in the droplets.
    3. Practice respiratory hygiene - Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue whenever you cough or sneeze. You can protect the people around you if you follow this.
    4. Observe the signs and medical care early - If you have fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, call in medical attention in advance. This can help you and help prevent the spread of the virus to your fellow Filipinos. You may call the COVID-19 24/7 Hotline 📞: (02) 894-COVID - (02) 894-26843.
    5. Stay informed - Be updated with the latest news about COVID-19. Be on the lookout for new developments and follow the advice given by health professionals. Links provided below for organizations and platforms to follow.
How many countries are affected so far?

How many cases are there in the Philippines?
As of 23 March 2020, the Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed over 400 cases, with close to 10 recoveries and more than 15 deaths. For an updated count, be sure to follow their website and social media platforms.
Then the entire Philippines was declared under a state of calamity amidst the rising cases and the entire island of Luzon was placed under enhanced community quarantine to help curb the spread of the virus.
For regular updates on these cases, you can stay updated through DOH’s website.
What exactly does an enhanced community quarantine mean?
The government has implemented an enhanced community quarantine on the entire island of Luzon effective from March 17, 2020 to April 13, 2020. Guidelines during this period include a strict home quarantine in households with movement limited to accessing basic necessities, suspended public transportation, restricted land, air, and sea travel, and a heightened presence of uniformed personnel. Select cities in Metro Manila have implemented a curfew from 8pm to 5am to limit the movement of residents.
Places where large groups of people frequent such as malls and schools have announced temporary closures but establishments that provide basic necessities such as groceries, pharmacies, and banks will remain open.
Can I still go outside my house?
Only one person per household would be allowed to go out for the purpose of buying basic necessities. It is highly encouraged to remain indoors for the duration of the quarantine to prevent the spread of the virus.
Am I still allowed to travel?
In compliance with enhanced quarantine, land, sea, and air travels have been extremely restricted. Domestic travel is prohibited for Filipinos, with major airlines canceling all their domestic flights
According to the latest government pronouncement as of writing, Filipinos who intend to travel as tourists to any destination will not be allowed to leave the country. OFWs, balikbayans, and foreigners can take international flights out of Luzon for the duration of the lockdown, provided that they present proof of travel itinerary scheduled with 24 hours. Filipinos and other Filipino permanent residents can return to the Philippines anytime.
Select areas outside Metro Manila such as Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, and more have also implemented travel restrictions amidst the rising cases.

All returning Filipinos and permanent residents flying in from China, Hong Kong, and Macau will be subjected to a required 14-day quarantine in compliance with DOH requirements.
All other returning Filipinos and residents arriving in Luzon should comply with the mandatory home quarantine.
What will happen to my flight bookings?
The country’s main carriers have implemented their respective policies regarding flight bookings, which are inclusive of either a one-time free rebooking, conversion to a travel fund, full refund, and more. Please visit each airline’s page to find out their specific and applicable guidelines:
For other airlines, please contact their respective websites or contact their hotlines to find out what you can do with your bookings.
