As of November 1, Thailand travel restrictions have been relaxed. The country now allows quarantine-free entry for tourists — but only for those who have stayed at least twenty-one (21) days in approved “low-risk” countries, including the Philippines, before the travel date.
Filipinos entering Thailand can avoid lengthy quarantine as part of Thailand’s “Test & Go” program. This means you’ll only be required to stay in a government-designated hotel overnight provided that you meet Thailand’s updated travel requirements (more on this in a bit!).
If you’re coming from a country that isn’t included in the list, you can still travel to Thailand, but you can only access their 17 “blue” destinations in the first 10 days of your stay. After that, you’re pretty much free to roam the country.
Luckily, the 17 “blue” destinations include Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. Between the gorgeous beaches in Phuket and the vibrant nightlife in Bangkok, there are plenty of places to visit and exciting spots to go to.

Updated Thailand Travel Requirements for Filipino Tourists (as of November 1, 2021)

If you want to visit the country under the “Test & Go” program, take note of the latest Thailand travel requirements and COVID guidelines. These include a Thailand Pass, which you can get by registering on this website; a vaccination certificate, which you can download on the official VaxCert website; and insurance that covers no less than U.S. $50,000 (approx. P2.5 million), among others.
You can check out the complete list of updated travel requirements below:
    • Philippine Passport.
    • Thailand Pass. Get yours through tp.consular.go.th.
    • Certificate of Vaccination certifying you’ve been fully vaccinated within 14 days before your travel date. Get your vax-cert through vaxcert.doh.gov.ph.
    • Medical certificate with a negative RT-PCR test result. The COVID-19 test shouldn’t be earlier than 72 hours before your travel date.
    • Confirmed payment for one RT-PCR test upon your arrival in Thailand and one antigen test kit for self-testing on your sixth or seventh day.
    • Confirmed payment for an overnight stay at a government-approved hotel. This is where you will stay while waiting for your RT-PCR test results.
    • General or health insurance policy with a coverage of no less than U.S. $50,000 (approx. P2.5 million).
As mentioned, part of Thailand’s travel requirements for the Philippines in 2021 is to stay at a designated hotel overnight and wait for your RT-PCR test results. If you test negative, you’ll receive an antigen test kit for self-testing 6 to 7 days into your stay in Thailand. Small price to pay for that sweet Thai getaway!
